It sounds like your video adapter (probably on the motherboard) is failing, and you'll need to get another video adapter you can plug into one of the slots.

Monitor sometimes blink

Unfortunately, the viewsonic monitors don't have the most durable electronics on the market, from what I have heard from some sales people at computer stores.

If you have a steady signal from the computer, and the computer isn't sleeping or hibernating, then there's something wrong with either the cable or the monitor.

Good luck on this one.

No signal

Check cable connections. Check using a different monitor.
The only other possibility is that you're trying to drive it with a signal that is beyond the capability of the monitor. But the computer boot-up (BIOS) screen won't exceed the monitor's capability.

I bought a mag innovision model 780 monitor at a garage sale to use with my ACER mini laptop. This monitor has a manufacture date of January 2003 - it did not come with a power supply. Where is the power...

With Most Mag monitors, the plug is a simple 3 prong on the bottom side of the monitor. Though it isn't proprietary, it isn't a common power plug either. Radio Shack does carry this type of cord. Just look on the bottom side of the monitor itself. the three round plug "thingy" is where the 110v plugs in straight from the wall. Best of Luck!

I have 17' CRT dell monitor the monitor led light is green but the screen is blank what shall i do?

Double check all your cables are securely attached and if you have pets that no cables have been chewed on. If you can borrow a neighbors monitor do so and you can verify that the problem is your monitor or your computer. Try to just swap the monitor and not the cables to do this test.
All else fails, used 17 " lcd's show up at garage sales pretty cheap ($15-$25)

hi im josh in cebu phils.may i help you? just try this stuff it will help you. Monitor Problems:

THE COMPUTERS SEEMS TO BE WORKING, BUT THE SCREEN IS BLANK.
- Check the monitor if turned on.
- Check all the LED power on the monitor, if it has one.
- Adjust brightness and contrast controls all the way to the maximum.
- Check the video cable from the monitor to the computer to be sure if it is properly connected.
- Check the power cable. If it is connected properly at both ends.
- Try different monitor on your computer. If it does not work, the display card is likely at fault. Replace the display card.
- Try your monitor on a different computer. If it does not work, replace the monitor or have it repaired by a trained technician.

COMPUTER BOOTS, BUT DISPLAYS “JUNK” ON THE SCREEN
- It may be that the display card is defective. Try a different card. If it works the first card may be bad.
- Try the suspected bad card on another computer. If it displays the same thing it is conclusive that the card is bad.

DISPLAY IS DIM, OVERLY BRIGHT, OR BLURRY, OR UNPLEASANT.DISPLAY IS OFF CENTER. LEFT OR RIGHT SIDE OF MONITOR IS OBSCURED.
- Try adjusting the control knobs located on either the front or back of the monitor. It maybe necessary o open the monitors casing to get the proper adjustment controls. In this case be very careful because there are high voltages in the monitor.
THE VIDEO DISPLAY FADES AND BRIGHTENS, OR IS WARY.
- The voltage may be fluctuating due to so many appliances or electric devices on he same branch circuit.
- Turn off other appliances and peripherals, such as printers, external modem, refrigerator, microwave oven, transformer, etc. and see if that solves the problem. If the problem persists, try swapping out the display cards. If changing the monitor solved the problem, repair or replace the monitor.
IMAGE IS NOT STRAIGHT ACROSS THE SCREEN
- If the monitor is still under warranty, bring it back to the dealer for adjustment. If the you want to do it your self, bare in mind that this is potentially dangerous procedure because it must be done while he monitor is on and there is very high voltages around the picture tube.
WARNING: THIS IS A DANGEROUS PROCEDURE!!!
- Open the monitor casing and loosen the clamp holding he coils around he picture tube. You can loosen them (usually there’s a wing nut) and a rotate the coil assembly until the picture strengthens.
good luck please vote

My Dell Monitor on/off switch blinks green all of the time.

You need to open the monitor and check to se eif any of the capacitors on the power board are bad. Common problem for LCD monitors. The bad caps usually vent at the top (they will look bad compaired to a good capacitor).

If they look bad then they will need to be replaced. I've seen this in Dell monitors, so there's a good chance this will fix the monitor.
Take it apart, get the values on the sides of the bad caps in the power supply pcb. Buy new caps, and de-solder the old ones and replace them with the new ones. Don't forget to trim the leads afterwords.
