Question about HP Photosmart 2610 All-In-One InkJet Printer

1 Answer

Power adapter barrel connector

This unit uses a very non-standard barrel connector to connect the 31VDC power adapter to it. Does anyone know where to get a replacement or at least its manufacturer and type?

My HP Photosmart 2710 keeps shutting down, either when printing, scanning, or sometimes just on its own. I can only get it to restart by removing the power plug from the power supply and reinserting it

The most common reason for this is that the power input in the printer has a bad solder joint.
Wiggle the power connector at the back while the unit is powered up.
If it goes off, then that connector inside the printer just needs to be soldered back down.
The other possibility is that the power adapter itself is failing, which is really hard to test without another power adapter to test it with.

Do i need a power cord to operate the 7410

Hello,

The OfficeJet 7410 has a separate power cord and adapter (transformer) that has an output voltage of 31VDC @ 2420mA.

The original HP part number is 0950-4483 but they have a substitute part number of 0957-2145. It can be ordered from HP from this page:

HP Adapter 0957-2145

You may also be able to find one by either Googling the part numbers or if you have an eBay account search there. You may find a better deal.

Thanks for using Fixya. Please take a moment to rate this solution.

BTW, here is the main support page for your printer:

LOST POWER CABLE.What type is it and whre dose it hook up?

Hi,

Your printer takes a 31VDC 1400 ma power adapter.

Take a look at the Setup Guide:

http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/bpd09788.pdf

Zoom in on Step 7. It shows where the power supply connects and also shows the requirements.

I found an online store that stocks the P.S. You can see it at:

Does anyone know what error code 3807 on a Kodak ESP 5 all in one is? And....can anyone tell me why the dammed thing tells me the print head is not installed every time I turn it on?

found a solution for your error code 3807 "System status failed"

To resolve the error condition:
  1. Disconnect the power adapter from the printer.
  2. Wait 30 seconds to allow the printer to reset.
  3. Connect the power adapter to the printer. Turn the printer on if necessary.
  4. Wait until the printer is ready to use.
If the error condition continues:
  1. Remove and install the Printhead two times before closing the Printer Access Door.
  2. Wait until the printer is ready to use.

If the error is not resolved, contact Kodak.

I need an Adapter Hp 0950-4340 with cord. NKWacker@aol.com

You can go to HP's part page (here), fill in the part number (0950-4340) and order it directly from them.

This way you make sure that you get the right part for your printer.

If you want to look at other stores, make sure you get an AC/DC converter with the correct specs:
  • Input: 120VAC/220VAC, 50/60Hz
  • Output: 31VDC, 1.45A

The power cable is a standard 3-pole household power cable.

If you have any more questions, come back here and let me know - I'm happy to help.

Alarm and power probelm

If you already took the printer apart, check the socket where you connect the printer to power, check that the connector soldering joints and contacts are not broke.

The circuit area near the AC adapter socket on the printer is the power board.
If there is a fuse check it.
If there is smell or trace of burnt, that means that a component, usually a capacitor, had blown.

If you do not find anything it must be the AC adapter terminal cable, or the connector , that has a broken contact.

To test it you need to get a multimeter and measure voltage from the AC adapter connector. Alternatively take the printer to a repair shop , tell them that you want to buy a power adapter for your printer, and ask to test a spare power adapter first. Many shops do not charge repair fee for this, as long as it can be done on the fly, and printer must not be left in for repairs.

My printer doesn't have the usb to connect it to the computer - what do i need to do?

If the printer does not have the square USB connector (USB B end), then it will have parallel. Parallel is a wide connector that plugs in to a DB25 connector on the back of your computer. These parallel port printer cables can still be picked up at just about any office supply or computer store.

What if your computer does not have the DB25 parallel port but the printer does? Well there are USB to Parallel Port adapters made specifically for this scenario. They can run $10 to $30 depending on where you go. I recomend www.Geeks.com for those. That will allow you to plug an older printer in to a newer machine.

If it's made for a mac only, there should be a small circular port about the same size as a PS/2 keyboard or mouse. That is to connect to the Mac serial bus. This is differant than the barrel connector or brick used to supply power to the printer.

Hope this helps.
