Borders on external monitor after Dell Latitude D630 wakes from sleep

Thomas Motley,
Your monitor is displaying like it is because the graphics card refresh rate has changed. Check that the display driver is correct for your graphics card and that you are not using the generic windows driver. If the driver is correct then look in desktop properties, settings, advanced, monitor and check that the refresh rate is correct for you monitor.

Thank You,

How to make d800 recognise second moniter

plug your monitor then right click on desktop, go down to screen rez in the menu.
click on the detect tab, click on monitor 2 so it highlights then in the multiple displays drop down box select (Extend these displays)

if it doesn't pick the monitor up at all, then your graphic drivers are missing.
go to control panel,in the top right change the icon size to "large icons" then select (device manager) their should not be any yellow triangles with " ! " in them, if their is right click on them & up date driver, select the top option " search internet for driver".
if no joy then go to .......dell.com & put your service tag in off the sticker on the base of the machine.
good look.

You need to make your new display active. You can do it by following proper instructions depending on the video adapter included with your notebook:

On models with the Intel Graphics Media Accelerator
1 Right-click on the desktop and select Personalize.
2 Click Display Settings.
3 Follow the on-screen instructions to change the settings.

On models with the NVIDIA or ATI video controller
1 Click Start and Control Panel.
2 Click Adjust screen resolution under Appearance and Personalization.
3 Right-click the number 2 monitor and select Attached.
4 Click OK.
At the confirmation prompt, click Yes.
