I have the same problem. Mine also, gets all mingled up on ruins my material. I have worked on a skirt for 2 nights & now it's in the trash. The bobbin thread kept getting caught up and I would have to cut my skirt off. Finally it caught my skirt and put a hole in it.

Bottom thread from theh bobbin is in big loops.

Problem with Brother CS-8150 Computerized Sewing Machine
bottom thread from theh bobbin is in big loops.

I have a CS-8150 as well -it was fine until I decided to clean the shuttlecock and I thought I had put it back correctly. However, it was after replacing the shuttlecock in place that my bobbin thread was making big loops and no matter what tension it kept doing it. So I removed everything out of the bobbin area. Cleaned and made sure that the shuttlecock was exactly in place as per the manual. Guess what it does not make big loops any more.
Just a suggestion.

My Brother SE270D keeps jamming up and getting thread all tangled up The feed is not advancing either.

Make sure you are using 60 weight bobbin thread only in the bobbin, also make sure you are using only SA156 ( SFB-XA5539-151) bobbins, the size 156A are not for this machine. I have used Singer size 15J bobbins with no problem. The bobbin should have slightly rounded ends, not flat like a regular bobbin. This helps the thread over the bobbin at high speeds.

I threw my machine out of time the first three times I used it for embroidery and decorative stitches. Had I read the manual, I'd have known to use 60 wt bobbin thread. I have also used 90 wt with no problems...60 wt is what comes with the machine.

If you have to take the machine in for service, make sure to take sample of the problem and the embroidery unit, thread you used, etc. Take it all and tell them to test it all.

My Brother dealer felt these Disney machines were great little workers..and said they are not hard to repair...some dealers don't know enough about how to repair the thread cartridge, so tell you the machine is not worth repairing. It is...I've had mine for 4 years.

Hope this helps some. You may have to take the machine in to be timed / cleaned...once that's done and you are using proper thread and bobbins (upper thread - you can use any, bobbin it's 60wt)...you will love your machine.

Brother embroidery machine broken

make sure the bobbin thread is wound and installed correctly
remove tangled thread and clean lint out from under feed plate
clean and remove shuttle to clean out area with lint brush
inspect bobbin for burs and scratches...make sure when reinstalling shuttle and bobbin that it rotates freely
hope this helps

Push the button to put the needle in the up position. Take the hoop off the unit and chekc everything. Rethread the top thread. Take out the bobbin and remove the bobbin plate (the plate, not just the cover). Check under and around the bobbin shuttle as best as you can for threads and lint. Use the brush to remove any lint clumps. If it still not working I would try switching the machine off. If you leave the item hooped and you didn't adjust your design any with the machine before you started stitching you should be able to put it back correctly. Turn the machine back on and try again, skipping ahead in the design to where you stopped before of course. If it still doesn't work contact Brother customer service.

Embroidery Problem with my disney

Check your bobbin case. Thread the bobbin through your bobbin case while holding it in your left hand. Pull the thread with your right hand and feel if there is any resistance. If not, you need to adjust the tension on the bobbincase. Also check if a piece of thread or fluff did not get stuck between the tension blades on the bobbin case. If you are not sure how to adjust the tension on the bobbin case, ask your dealer to do it.

What kind of thread are you using? When I had this same problem I noticed If I did not have Bobbin thread in the bottom or embroidery thread of the same weight in the bottom it would do this.

Brother SE-270D Jams below needle plate

Comment by margecam52, posted on Aug 12, 2008 It's the bobbin thread. Also, it does not have to be Brother brand. Any 60wt thread will work. I get mine at http://www.threadart.com
They have it on large cones, and I use a cone holder to fill my bobbins. I have not had a single problem since. I like this thread because it has a sheen to it. I also have a longarm quilting machine & I use this bobbin thread 95% of the time. Also, be sure to check the bobbin area (remove the plastic & the metal plates) for lint buildup... I have a small, soft artists paint brush that I use to remove the lint build up with. I check after every embroidery run.
And for the thread not coming through...mine does it when I change thickness of threads. There is an adjustment wheel on the front of the machine, I turn that...seems to make the difference...not even sure that is what it's for...but it works for me.
