It sounds like the power supply is going out. a friend of mine bought a tv that did the same thing, a week after he bought it.
the warranty covered the replacement.

I have a DYNEX LCD37 for 2 years, it was working great untill I plugged in a new HDMI cable to use my laptop, after a few uses I turned my tv on one day and the Contrast was lost, everything works fine...

The tv Tuner signal board have problems, might need the replacement of the Tuner signal board it self.Tries the tv unplug, replug it back in like an hour later.Let the tv resetting itself back to the factory setting.See,if that solved ur problems. Not,than the Tuner signal board have problems itself, must be replaced the Tuner signal board itself.

Turn off after a few hours

If the TV turn itself off then perform the following steps:

(i) Check if the Sleep timer is activated.

(ii) Check if the Parental Guide prohibits viewing during that time and/or limits amount of viewing time per day.

(iii) Check the batteries on your remote, low battery power may cause random signals from the remote.

(iv) Disconnect all the cables from the TV then reconnect them after a few hours.

(v) Ensure the power cord from the TV is directly connected to a functional wall outlet.

(vi) You may also try resetting the TV to the original factory settings by pressing the Reset button on the remote control supplied with the TV when in Menu.

The following is the information indicated by the blinking patter of the standby/timer lamp on the TV:

2 times : Power does not come on.
Load on power line shorted.

3 times : The TV has entered standby mode.

4 times : Has entered standby state after
horizontal raster.
Vertical deflection pulse is
stopped.
Power line is shorted, or
power supply is stopped.

5 times: No raster is generated.
CRT Cathode current detection
reference pulse output is small.

6 times: No picture

9 times : No sound

Furthermore, the TV is equipped with a self-diagnosis function that you can use to determine whether the issue is related to any hardware malfunctioning. Perform the step given below to run self diagnosis:

Quickly press the remote command button in the following order from the standby state.

Display -------> Channel 5 ---------> Volume -(minus) --------> Power ON.

If the Self Diagnosis display numeral "1" for any parameters then a fault has been detected and service will be required.

wish u good luck!!!!!!!!!!

you can do a self-diagnosis test by pressing the menu and input/device button on set for 5 sec and see what error code it gives you. Count the blinks followed by a short pause then more blinks. This is the error code.
