Icemaker is not working on my whirlpool GS6SHEXNS00side by side refridgerator

My icemaker is not producing any ice at all. The water is still working. I changed the filter as needed and still no ice. I am forced to use ice trays. What else should I look for ?

I had the same problem--I live in an area with extremely hard water and have no filter---I dismantled the ice maker, cleaned it, put it back together and it appears to be working. The front cover (white module cover) snaps off--remove the 3 screws that hold the module in and remove the module(male end), it will be stiff but can be carefully pried off with a small to medium flat screwdriver. There are 3(three)---1/4 inch hex head screws that hold the ice maker in, 2 on the top into the side of the freezer, and 1 from under the ice maker--they aren't hard to find but it is best to use a regular length spin tight not a stubby to remove them. Remove the 2 phillips head screws that hold the "BLACK" section of the module to the ice maker and the spindle that rotates to move the cubes out of the ice maker into the ice bin will come out of the ice make and the plastic separator fingers will come off the ice maker too. Now that it is disassembled you can clean everything and reassemble. Mine had a small build up of 'white' residue that was apparently keeping the spindle from turning and removing the cubes to the bin. This is not a difficult repair and I'm sure it saved me a couple hundred bucks---what have you got to lose--it ain't workin' now so the worst that can happen is you gotta buy some more ice cube trays--LOL. If you have any questions shot me an email kf4sbs@aol.com

I have a Whirlpool side by side refrigerator. The icemaker has recently stopped working. The water fills the tray but the ice is not ejected at all. Any help would be appreciated.

Check to make sure the ice maker is not jammed. My refrigerator was only two months old when opposing plastic fingers on the ice maker jammed together. I'm not sure how it happened but I carefully straightened the bent finger and the ice machine started to work again.

Ice maker not producing ice, already check the basic problems,

The water tube to the icemaker inside the refrig maybe frozen up. Thaw out with your hair dryer. To make sure the tube is clear. Shut of the water to the refrig, disconnect the inlet water line to the icemaker. Insert a flexable through the connector fitting, I used a zip tie. The flexable item should go all the way to the icemaker

Solution #2 Replace the "water inlet valve" at bottom back right of refrig. Easy To Do.

Ice maker in refridgerator freezer won't make ice. It seems as if the water is going up into the freezer but no Ice is being produced. The ice tray has frozen ice in it, but it will not dump it in the ice...

Sometimes icemakers get all frozen up, such that the motor cannot turn to eject the ice. Also, in some cases the water supply line freezes up, although that does not sound like your problem.

Try leaving the freezer open to defrost it manually and see if it starts working by itself. Also, the icemaker motors can and do fail. In some cases you smell an acrid burning smell when the motor fails.

Icemaker not working, but water dispenser is

Water valve has separate coils for water to door and to icemaker. If icemaker is cycling the valve is likely the problem.

Whirlpool side by side refridgerator model GS6SHE*N*O, icemaker won't produce ice. Watter line is okay. This is only 6 months old.

make sure your ice maker is turned on and if it is a new install than it will take about 24 hours for the first bin of ice witch you will need o throw away because it is like the first snow the first ice that comes out will have the dirt and things that are in the line.filter and ice maker.
