Hi, the partition has probably went corrupt, i would suggest going into my computer, right click on it and go to format.
format the drive should give you the empty space back but you will lose any information currently on the drive..

All the best

Pop up box says no available space o GB?

Click Start, then Computer. If it shows no (or very little) free space on C:, you are truly out of room and need to delete or move some files to another hard drive (external hard drives are good for this). To operate efficiently, a good rule of thumb is to have at least 20% of your hard drive free.

I have a low disk space. Can I install this 250GB 7200 RPM Desktop ATA Hard Drive, and will it work OK. Or what else ?

It may not work because the BIOS may not support a hard drive with this large capacity. Check the specification of your computer. The other option is to install it and then check the BIOS.
If you install this hard drive in a USB hard drive adapter case, and plug it into the USB port, most likely it will see it as and external storage device with over 200 GB capacity. You lose a small capacity when you format the hard drive.

Do you know about computer GB free disk space

Yes. you have 221 gb available disk storage left. 5 gb will hardly make a dent in that.

You can right click on the computer icon and then select properties to view a pie chart representation of available space if that makes it easier for you.

ok go and check your c: drive memory status if you found less memory their then that will be the problem it is not only the case of a c: drive check all the drives how much space is left if not so space is there partion again and left a space of about 30 gb for c drive the place you installing the operting system and remaing can be used according to your taste and also try to install application in remaing drives dont try to install the whole applications in the c; drive it will slow down and shows low disk space and in every 3 days do this procedure just right click on the each drive take the properties and just click on disk clean up button it will help to remove all the unwanted programmes from the disk and this procedure will not allow your system to run out of memory try this thats all.... thanx for asking...

I just installed a Maxtor 6L06033 (60GB) drive in my Essential 500. Why does it only format to 32GB?

1.the max configuration for this PC may only be for 40 GB
2. you may have to format the drive in to a 2nd virtual drive 32/22
3. check the manufacturers spec to see the maximum drive it can take.

When ripping from music cds the coputers hardrive switches off

How much empty space do have on your C drive? Shift all storable media in the other partions keeping C drive as empty as possible. When the buffer memory finishes it has a resrved portion of the HDD for this purpose. If that space is not left on the C drive then it will shut down if left on its own. Like the ripping job. Defragment your HDD for better performance.............sodeep

I'm not sure what you have done but.

Right click my computer
select manage

on the left side of the computer management window
see disk management

now on the right side where the disk management is open
find the usb drive from the list of drives, right click on all paritions of the usb drive and select delete partition, ones all parititons are deleted right click in the empty space and create a new partition.
it should work as normally, normal size.
