Question about Computers & Internet

1 Answer

Trying to install a computer desktop pc (Ei 209) into existing monitor, keyboard & mouse. The monitor is not registering at all, even tho' we are connecting correctly into the monitor point as described on the rear of the computer. Why is this not connecting? We have tried Philips & Dell monitors, and both fail to connect.

I have HCL Ezeebee desktop computer when we boot the system monitor, keyboard, mouse blink for a while and monitor (HCL) show 'no signal' message, and keyboard num lock led not display mouse i

No signal at the monitor indicates (if you know the monitor is working ok) a failure of the graphics chip or graphics card, The lack of indicator light on the num lock LED and the lack of power to the mouse would indicate that there is a major issue with the motherboard.
you can try using another monitor to confirm the problem lies with the graphics, and in the case of the keyboard and mouse, swap them for a usb version, if they work, the Ps2 ports are probably damaged.
I'd be thinking of replacing the motherboard

Blank screen with blinking cursor on Dell desktop

First step is to make sure that nothing is plugged into the computer except a power cord, keyboard, monitor, and mouse. If it still does it, even unplug the mouse, because a mouse going bad can easily cause what you describe. If it still does it, try a different keyboard.make absolutely sure that nothing else is plugged into the computer.

My mouse and keyboard won't work...after i restart it several times, then it works,,,it will wake up out of standby or start up,but the mouse won't move, sometimes when the mouse does move the keyboard won't...

i assumed that you use device PS2 (Mouse & Keyboard), this rarely situation, but you haved installed and not more better, because the problem not with your system, but with your hardware, maybe you can change with USB Mouse Device and for Keyboard PS2 is better than USB Keyboard.

- unplug everything form the back of the computer: power cable, mouse, keyboard, monitor, network cable & speakers, printer, camera (all usb)
- hold down power button for 10 secs (power cycle)
- plug in power, keyboard, mouse, network & monitor.. BUT NOT printer yet
- it it turns on, you can reconnect all other devices
- if it doesnt turn on still, call manufacturer or bring it to repair shop.. possible motherboard problem

How to set up computer

Hi, If your Computer a Desktop or is it a Notebook. If it is a Desktop, Plug in the Wires/connectors of the Monitor to the Desktop in the video port. Further you also have to plug in the Keyboard & the Mouse cables to their respective ports. After completing this, turn on the system. Once the System is on, if it is a preloaded computer, then you have to do the necessary settings as per your requirements & can be able to start using it directly.  If your system is not preloaded, then you will have to install the Operating system and then you have to install the drivers for the monitor, Keyboard & Mouse. Then you can install the Office software  & Other softwares as per your requirement. But whether it is a preloaded system or not, do not forget to install the Anti Virus Software in your system.

My emachine T1742 desktop will not turn on. When plugged in the power supply's fan turns on, cpu fan doesnt start, both hdd/power led's flicker and pressing power button doesnt power on/off system.

Disconnect all the devices from the computer(tower) including keyboard, mouse, monitor(everything)..even the power cable

Now keep on holding down the power button on the computer tower for 15-30 seconds..

Now release the power button, plug in the power cable, monitor, keyboard, mouse and turn on the computer...

If it works, great!!!

Otherwise, take it for repair..
