what operating system is your computer.XP is the operating system recommended but you need windows media player 10.If you have them both you can move/sync files thru Windows Media Player(WMP) but they have to have a drm licence.
If you've got Windows® 98SE, ME, or 2000 Professional.
5 just connect it, find My computer and you should see the player listed, double click and the files should be visible.
I would check your friend's operating system to see what he/she used and if any problems occurred.
MTP” mode will only work, when your player is connected to Microsoft® Windows® XP and Windows® Media Player 10.
The MP3 Player will only work in “USB” mode when it is connected to Windows® 98SE, ME, or 2000 Professional.
You will need to format your player. Doing this will completely erase any memory on your player. Follow the steps below:
1. Plug the player up to the computer using the USB cable. 2. Double click the My Computer icon on your desktop. 3. When that opens find your player under Removable Devices or Audio Devices. Some computers will show your player twice but will have the SD MMC card showing behind the player name. That is only for formatting the SD card. 4. Right click once on the player to open the Options menu and then click on Format 5. Click OK to any warnings that come up. There may be one or two depending on your operating system. 6. Any memory will now be erased from your player and you can disconnect from the computer. 7. Reboot your computer and plug your player back in. 8. When you see USB appear on your players screen, press and hold the M button until MTP appears on your screen. 9. Reload your music.
I have Vista and when I open MY Computer after I've connected my gpx mw3847 it shows up as GPX (F:). I did not format it. If I right click on GPX (F:), the drop down menu shows a FORMAT item there. But I can drag or copy songs to it without having to format it. The (F:) stands for the drive letter so yours might be different.
This player has a USB and an MTP mode- the most annoying fetaure ever invented on mp3 players.
You can switch your player between USB and MTP mode only if your player is connected to Windows XP machine and Windows Media Player 10. When the player is connected to your Windows XP machine, pressing the M button on your player will switch your player between USB and MTP mode.
on the top right of you mp3 there is a button that says M.
Try holding it then plugging it back into you computer.
O.K ill try to make this easy now, do that when its off because when it says mtp on mine i can put songs on it but idk why yours is not working so try what i said on top and good luck, because if it says usb that means you share stuff but when it says mtp that means you put on music.
