Question about Sony KV-36FS100 36" TV

1 Answer

No sound I have had my TV in storage for some time. The picture looks great but there is no sound. I have made sure that the speakers are turned on and that the mute is off. Have you have heard of this happening? Any idea of what the problem is? I am hoping that the amp isn't burned out. Any help is appreciated. Thank you.

It could be that moisture has penetrated the speaker cones and made them less elastic, try connecting a pair of headphones to the front of the telly, if this is working then there is a chance that it may just be the speakers.

MY PICTURE IS GREAT,BUT NO SOUND. WHAT CAN I DO TO FIX IT?

Make sure TV is not muted.Make sure the TV is not set to SAP (secondary audio protocol)Make sure TV input is correct (someone may have accidentally pressed the "aux" input button or similar causing the TV to use an input with no sound going to it)Make sure there is not a pair of headphones connected to the TV audio out jack on the side or front of your TV.Check all of the cables that are connected into the back of your TV. (it is possible the TV was moved slightly and a cable has become disconnected or loose)If you have a receiver or surround sound connected to your TV, turn it on and see if you get sound coming from the external speakers.Turn off the TV, cable box, and anything else connected to the TV. Sometimes turning everything off and then back on can fix the problem. If using an "S" video cable into an input on the back of your TV, these cables carry no sound, just video, so make sure you connect an audio cable too.Hook up an external device to the "TV audio out" input. This will be the test to see if it is a TV circuit board malfunction or the speakers are faulty in your TV.If you are connected to a satellite box, use the included remote and go into the "menu". Check to make sure sound settings are set correctly.

Jvc plasma monitor with picture but no sound from internal speakers

OK i would check the obvious first. Check your controls to make sure the speakers are turned on. The next thing I would check is your speakers you would have to take them out and inspect them physically and if you can take the out and plug them into a receiver or something that has oudio out. If all that is good then You signal board migh be bad.

You can get parts for that tv at www.interliquidparts.com

I have a ws-65511, it's been in storage for about 2 years. The picture is working fine but there is no sound. Digital cable box in hooked up properly with audio cables and Pr Pb video cables. Any ideas?

Here is somethings you can do/try.

Turn on tv and make note of any blink sequence on the power LED.

Verify you have no sound on any input.
Turn volume up on tv and determine if you hear any noise whatsoever coming from the speakers, in terms of hiss, hum, faint audio.

If you do here some sound, this points back toward your connection points where rust, or spiderwebs may be preventing good contact with the audio cables.

Depend on how you stored it, you could have had mice get into the tv and chew the wiring. Take the back cover off and inspect all the connections. Follow the wires coming from the speakers to where they plug into the board. Make sure the wires are not damaged

Look at the capacitors on the board and make note of any capacitors that have a buldge to them or the tops are rounded over. This is an indication they are bad.

Samsung TSJ 2799 No sound

Check the audio menu and make sure it is in the stereo mode and that the alt sound is not on. some times the remote button gets pushed by mistake when turning it off. If everything in the menu looks ok it may be the cable converter box. If you can hear anything from the speakers the output is working. Try a DVD to see if you get sound from it.
