I would try connecting computer speakers to the front headphone connector (if available).

It will look weird, but you can get some loud and good looking computer speakers these days.

My Toshiba TheaterView has no sound or picture

You may have overloaded your audio output with the external speakers(impedance or short wire problem?)as a result the audio out i.c maybe damaged which in turn may have blown one of several fuses in the power supply.maybe regular GMA type fuse or picofuses, you can try replacing blown fuse but if they blow right back you`ll need the help of a repairman

Alot of loud feedback through speakers, a loud buzzing noise

What sources make it happen or which do not? All buzzing = something in the amplifier end. is it from all speakers or just one?
One external source= RCA cables not grounded. Reconnect them tightly with a twisting motion to wipe off oxidation.

"Humming" noise in audio

Normal 0 Twothings can cause static or humming.
First,If you have your speakers turned up to high it will give you feedback causingdistortion and static. I recommend using a headset when videoing.
Secondreason is, if you are using a laptop and have added an external microphonebetween the two it will cause distortion and static.
Notknowing the configuration of your computer makes it harder to analyze theproblem.
Sohope this is of some help. Bud

Want to add an external speaker to TV

If you have audio out RCA jacks then you can hook up some computer speakers that have RCA jack inputs. If you don't have audio outputs and your TV has a HOT chassis then you won't be able to do it. If your tv has a switching power supply then you can install a jack to TV speakers, so they disconect when you hook up your other speakers, if you try and hook up speaker to the TV speakers then the impedence will change, and your audio output IC will get hot and short out.
