If you have shorting again by trying replace the capacitor but if it is not working try to turn a little the fan insite there is a collector burned out the commutator of the armature . if the machine was too hot replace both the armature and electric field if the lasting is not to great , ask yourself is my machine not to old for repair ?? because of the costs of the spare parts and the housing and remaining part. try out if the machine was not running this connect the cable again switch it on and carefully use a small screwdriver through the ventilation slot over but do not be surprised if he comes quite sparks and run.
The electric statorfield can on one coil side be broken
Mike I just found your post after answering another post. If you still need help I can help you but need to know your ENGINE model number. (Engine brand too please) What your describing is usually caused by valve seats that are caked with carbon. The puff of white smoke you see can be caused by valve stem seals or the piston oil rings. I would not be too concerned about the puff of smoke unless you really lose a lot of power. Often you can remove the cylinder head and use valve grinding compound to re-seat / clean the valve seats. Sadly you have to remove / unlatch the sprong keepers of the valves to do this. It isn't hard but without the first hand knowledge of how the spring keepers are installed it can be very frustrating. Again engine model number please and I can probably get youa link to an on-line service manual that you can use. Not sure why no one answered your question before but.. I am ready to help you now.
sounds like the lamp burnt out. this can happen. I'm not sure how old you set is. but for the cost of the repair, you can get a brand new TV.. good luck
Probably going to cost more than a new one is worth, and then you have still got a "Fixed" unit & in my experience once things start to fail there often is a domino effect. Still if you can get a free "Quote" for a fix, get one and see?
White smoke is indicative of a leaking head gasket or cracked head.
The liquid enters the combustion chamber and is ignited with the gas - and the exhaust is water vapors.
(unless you drove through a puddle that splashed watyer onto the exhaust)
The head gasket/cracked head is most evident on startup.
If your coolant level goes down with no visible leaks - your problem is internal (head gasket failure or cracked cylinder head).

Drag the file you are trying to put into the dock to the right of the silver line at the right of the dock. The file you want to delete, let it disappear in the 'puff of smoke' and then go into Macintosh HD and find the file and drag it over the trash icon. I hope it works!
You badly need a service manual, you might be able to get one at the Thermal Arc home page. Since it blew the input power breaker and let off a bit of smoke we'll take as given that something in there shorted. Inverter welders like this have a rectifier section, then an inverter section, then another rectifier section before the torch. I'd bet a little money that what went pop was one or more of the SCRs in the rectifier section. You really need the manual to do anything useful to this machine, pay particular attention to the repair sections where they talk about cold checks before powering the machine on again, it'll save you hours of replacing parts.
