Hi.

Providing the noise is not causing any picture or sound problems then the noise from the transformer is from the windings vibrating at A high frequency.

To prove this remove back from set & switch set on IF YOUR UNSURE OF YOUR COMPETANCE TO TOUCH LIVE CIRCUITS PLEASE TKE YOUR TV TO A REPAIR SHOP.

With an insulated item eg plastic pen or piece of wood push against transformer can you alter the pitch of the noise or make it stop alltogether by doing this.

If yes This can be cured by applying an epoxy resin type adhesive over the windings this will cure & pot the transformer which if done correctly will stop making the noise,

LCD screen keeps freezing

1 or more of the cold cathode must have been busted, the reason why a portion of your screen is brighter. It could also be the ballast transformer. It is also the reason why your screen stops when it warms up. Deffective cold cathode and its ballast has direct effect on the power supply. Replace all deffective cold cathode and ballast, and resolder all terminals connected at the surface of the power supply board. Be very careful with the ballast transformer, its input is 12 volts and high voltage output.

Have a Samsung 32 inch lcd tv 720p only a year old tv will not come on but power button is lit up

Most likely defective capacitors on the power supply module. Every model of LCD has this issue so don't feel Samsung is a inferior product. It is an excellent product.

My W3201C 32" LCD TV made a loud popping noise when I turned it off. Now it will not turn on. No power. No LED light.

That would be your transformer popping and dieing. Usually the popping is followed by a burning smell which is a good indicator that the part is unrecoverable. The cost of the part is variable based on the make and model TV and is usually not too labor intensive to replace. If not under warranty, let the repair gut know that you know what the problem is. Then, ask them to quote the cost of the replacement part and part number. Then ask them to quote you their hourly rate and get a time estimate. Then, google the part number and see if the cost is reasonable.

I just purchased a 32 inch maxent plasma that was supposed to be gauranteed to not be dead on arrival. When i recieved the tv it did not turn on. I contacted the seller and he says that the blacklights...

The TV is not a plasma, it is an LCD. Send it back to the seller ASAP. His add is misleading and deceptive. LCD TV`s are back lit with fluorescent lamps. They are powered by ballast transformers usually located on the inverter board. My guess is that parts are not available that's why he is dumping the set. Stick with name brand Japaneese products only and stay away from no named made in China junk. Hope you get your money back. Good luck!

Samsung 1080p turns itself off

Probably a bad Inverter board. I have a Dell 32" LCD TV but it has a Samsung Panel inside, found a burnt transformer on the inverter board, Still trying to find a replacement.

My TV comes on for a second then goes black, power still shows on but no picture. 1.5 years old

If you are not a tech person, take it in for service.

test your power supply output voltages, make sure the step down transformers are not leaking high voltage into the dc circuits. always start at the basics then work your way up or out. the most common problem for these late model tv's is power supply they just dont use quality parts anymore. in older tv's you could hear the high voltage arcs, snap today its rare for that to happen. I have a 32 inch LCD here now that actually blew a 1500 pico farad capacitor with no noise. that amazes me thats a pretty good sized capacitor, and they usually make some noise when they blow the top right off of them.
