CD works, AUX does not

I came home from vacation and my AUX function no longer works. I think it may have been struck by lightning but I'm not sure. The DVD/CD feature works fine so it's not a problem with the speakers. DVD is the only feature that works though. I've tried every wiring combination possible. The unit is 2 years old so I'm not sure if it's worth fixing. Should I scrap it and buy a new one or is there a fix that a novice can do?
