Do you have a telescopic/height adjustable wand or just two tubes which have to be stuck together? If they are made of plastic well, it may well be broken. If its metal check that the tops aren't corroded or the handle itself isn't broken. If the tubes/wand isn't sliding up and down (i.e. if its height adjustable) then something has got stuck. Sadly for this kind of repair you'd be better off to buy replacement wands or consider something aftermarket on EBAY. Check the diameter of the tubes with a ruler. If it is 3.2cm (32mm) or 3.5cm (35mm) you can buy replacement tubes. If you can't afford that then try furniture polish on a J cloth or similar and with a stick wedge it inside the tube/wand so that it adds a little lubrication or simply a clog - it sounds like there is dirt clogged in the part that slides. Dont forget to rate, thanks.

Repair extension on miele vacuum?

My Hoover had the same problem. I disassembled the plug and socket and cleaned all contacts with alcohol, gently compressed the prongs in the female socket with a pair of pliers so they would grip the male pins more tightly, and reassembled everything. If your wand's socket won't come apart, use Q-tips to clean the contacts and a pair of small screwdrivers to squeeze the prongs together. Also, my wand had a some play in it which caused the contacts to loosen up in the first place, so I used adhesive-backed felt strips to keep it from wiggling. So far so good -- I'm at 18 months and counting!

Hoover windtunnel, wand does not pick up

Hi, it's Cindy from Crucial Vacuum.

It sounds like your vacuum wand is clogged. A great trick is to remove your wand as per your manual and run a coin through it. If it comes out properly, check the place it attaches, as it may have thick debris. If it does not come out the other end, clear the clog in the hose.

You can purchase direct your replacement parts from Crucial Vacuum with free shipping and an exclusive 10% coupon for Fixya.com readers, use code: FIXYA10

After pulling the extension rod up and using the extension attachments i cannot get the rod to go back down,It seems like there is something blocking the rod from going down

Hi there,

Sorry to hear you're having a problem with your DC24. For the correct way to replace the wand and hose after use, you might find it helpful to refer to the user guide supplied with your machine. In case you don't have this to hand, here is an online copy:

http://media.dyson.com/downloads/UK/floorcare/Manuals/DC24_uk_manual_120710.pdf

You should find the wand slides back down inside the hose without resistance, and locks into place with an audible 'click'. If it's not doing this, please get in touch with us free on 08002980298 (UK), or 1866MYDYSON (US), so we can provide further assistance.

Kind regards,

Jack

The cleanout tool is part # 43514001. The filter is # 90001398. Be sure to leave a 1/2 inch gap between the top of the filter and the bottom of the lid. If you need a manual, try model F5914-900 0r F5912-900 on Hoover.com

The self propel switch on my Hoover 7500 wind tunnel is intermittent. How can I repair it?

Hi

You'll need to check if belt is disconnected or worn out. To check, disconnect cleaner from electrical outlet and disconnect power nozzle from extension wands. To remove hood, turn nozzle over and unscrew the 4 recessed Phillips head screws. Note: Do not remove the 3 screws in the triangle formation as these hold the motor in place. Please check the video for details--

Hope this helps... If it does please do not forget to accept the solution or post back for assistance.

How do you remove brushes and clean under the cover?

I too have this machine. On this particular model the brushes are not removable like on the newer versions. You can either purchase a "cleaning wand" from Hoover OR create your own as follows: Simply obtain a pendaflex hanging file folder (legal size) and remove the metal rods. These rods work exactly like the Hoover wand they try to sell you. They are quite flexible and easily slide thru the clear plastic openings at base of cover. The hooked ends work wonders in removing furballs, hair and other debris that gets trapped under the cover.

Hoover steam cleaner F5805 no manual

the plastic wand helps, but I have found that when I pick the entire unit up and take it to the sink and run water in the top of the plastic cover it cleans it out better than anything. I get alot of pet hair up also and it looks awful -- but the wand only cleans out the hair -- the dirt needs to be flushed out some time too

Where can I find an extension hose and wand for a Hoover wind tunnel bagless canister model S3755 (59134002)

Hello,
I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure. You can check with your local vacuum cleaner dealer and sometimes they have them in stock or they can order them for you. Or you can call the Hoover Factory customer service line and they will get you in touch with the Hoover parts Dept and they can ship you the extension hose and wand need for your vacuum. Please include the Model # and the Serial # so they can get the right item and color. So if you need further assistance, please feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or in the yellow pages, or contact the factory phone number or website to further assist you with your questions.
