You can only change the device manager settings for you to uninstall any recent hardware or driver.

Right-click My computer > Properties > Hardware > Device Manager

Just one question. Did you install any hardware driver before it happened?

If no driver or software installed before the blue screen happened, that's already a corrupted Operating System (corrupted Windows). If this is the case,

    - Run the recovery CD that came with your computer.

-If this didn't work, 2nd option is reformat the hard drive and do a fresh install of Windows. So far, this the best thing that you can do to resolve your blue screen problem.

I am unable to open internet and programs

Could be a virus. Can you start up in safe mode? If so try that (F8 on reboot and choose safe mode). Once up in safe mode run a full virus scan.

My laptop monitor is stuck in full screen mode after a game malfunctioned and the computer shut down. I did a system restore but it didn't change. Operating system - Vista.

Firstly, uninstall the game. then reboot the PC in safe mode. Right click on the desk top and select properties. Then select settings. From here give new settings to your monitor. If this does not wirk then Control Panel->System->HardWare->Deivce Manager. Select Display Adapters. Uninstall it and reinstall.

My Control Panel crashes when I switch views.

Please try to open control panel in safe mode and let me know what happens?
you can go to safe mode by tapping f8 when computer is starting up.
If safe mode works fine then any of the the start up item, third party service, spyware or useraccount is causing the problem.

To find if startup item is causing the problem we need to use the msconfig command on run and click on startup item and disable all apply close click and restart on prompt and try to open control panel on normal mode.

please let me know the safe mode status.
