I have a Biostar Motherboard K8M800-M7A and i just recently bought a kingston ram memory 1GB 400mhz KVR400X64C3A. Everywhere i look for on the internet says they are compatible but i dont get them to work....

Hello,
You are correct, this motherboard can use either 333mhz DDR (PC2700) or 400mhz DDR (3200) chips.
You may have a bad chip. Also make sure you are not mixing this chip with another of another speed. Its not good practise to mix 333mhz and 400mhz though some motherboards will still work like that.
Your best bet for compatibility is crucial DDR PC3200 • CL=3 • Unbuffered • NON-ECC • DDR400 • 2.6V • 128Meg x 64 •
Personally I have had bad luck with kingston ram myself.

hi

your motherboard supports following RAM only

Note: PC2100/PC1600 up to 3 DIMMs; PC3200/PC2700 up to 2 DIMMs; 1GB PC3200/2700 with 32 DDR chips up to 1 DIMM only)

Memory is not compatible to motherboard

You might want to go into the motherboard BIOS and change all of the memory timing settings to AUTOMATIC. The settings that are currently configured may be set too high/fast for the new chips.

There are many different specifications/speed settings that can differ from memory chip to memory chip, even within the same general MHZ category (Like your DDR 400)

I can't recognize what specific RAM this motherboard accepts..

Dear sir,

In reply to your post- Generally now a days we use DDR400 RAM(DDR 1) for this type of motherboard. So DDR 400 RAM is More compatible then other RAM,you can use this RAM for your motherboard to obtain good performance.

good luck

Memory 1 gb with pc 3200,can i use in p4se?

Dear blatz

The ASUS P4SE - motherboard Supports DDR SDRAM RAM.

The Supported RAM Speed is: PC2100, PC1600, PC2700

This means that the speed is at a maximum 333Mhz. The PC3200 is rated at 400Mhz but its ok. It is backward compatible with PC2700 or 333Mhz.

It will simply work but not at its maximum speed.
