OK first off here is an excellent reference for the system information. http://www.radioreference.com/apps/db/?sid=3627

One problem you may have is that you programmed the system as a Mot P25 System. I have done this same mistake. The system is actually a Motorola Type 2 Trunked system, The digital part is P25 audio.

In order to change this, you have to make a new system. You cannot go back and change the system type in the scanner once it is selected. I believe doing it through the computer you may be able to change it depending on the program you are using.

So in order to program this system is to set it up as a "new system"; select - MOT; then select - 800 Mhz. Standard.

Then in the system settings input the control channels for the towers around you out of the list. (Control Channels are the ones in red.)

Next input your talk groups you like, the victoria RMCP is correct that you have.

Then set the P25 Level to auto and Control Channels setting to control channels only.

Doing this should get you the system clearly. It appears to be a well developed system.

I hope this helps,

800 MHz frequency Mode problem

You have to program it TRUNKING mode when you enter the control channel frequencies. It is decoding okay as the MO shows motorola control channel and +DG means digital decoded and an OPEN group. You need to press the 'trunk' button everytime a talkgroup comes up that you want it to remember for future 'closed' group (-DG) talk groups. I suggest you go to 'RadioReference DOT com" and there are many forums there for your radio, as well as one or two YAHOO GROUPS specifically for your scanner. 73's

POLICE SCANNER FREQEUNCIES

finding the frequencies is pretty straight forward...
here's one easy solution..The simplest way is to GOOGLE.
go to google.com

enter "radio frequencies" and your county name and state..
you'll get the links to posted municipal services' radio freq's.
Then simply enter them into your scanner memory...

If you need the "10 codel" definitions, you can get those too so that you'll fully understand what all their abbreviations mean...
Have fun..

Hello, i just got my scanner working and need to know what everyone is talking about. How do I find all the codes for san joaquin count california? so, pd, fire, etc? thank you My scanner is not the one...

Congrats on entering the scanner world. Two different points of information you'll need:
1. Local municipal services' radio frequencies
2. Download a "10-code" definition list

If you google search San Joaquin County and "radio frequencies" you get a list of all the local radio frequencies that the local services in your area are broadcasting on. Then you can program them into your scanner... sorry if you already figured this part out..
Secondly, you can download a police call 10-code definition list and you be up and running. Print out your code list and you'll have alot of them memorized real quick. Also you'll get used to the local abbreviations being used in your area... for example in my area, "ECR" means El Camino Real.. a main street near here.
Have a blast..

No problem!
First if you don't have an owner's manual you can download a copy free HERE

Be sure to read all of it...it's got great info to get you comfortable with all the controls of your scanner.

Secondly you'll need local radio frequencies for your area.
Do a google.com search enter "radio frequencies" and also the name of your city, county and state.
You'll find people may have posted lists of frequencies for your area.

Print out the lists and then by following the step by steps in the owner's manual, enter each frequency into your scanner .

Once you've got them entered... you'll be ready to scan!
For understanding the 10-code language used, do a google search for "10-codes" and you should be able to find a list of definitions... They'll also use alot of local abreviations for street names and locations and those will be understood more as you listen to your local calls for a while.
good luck and have fun...and be safe.

Cannot for the life of me figure out how to program this!

You need to obtain local frequency numbers for your area.
google search, "radio frequencies" and you county, city name...it'll give you lists of frequencies to enter into your scanner..
Your user manual should show you the step by step with which buttons to push... are you having difficulty entering the frequency numbers?

UNiden manuals are downloadable at their website located http://www.uniden.com/index/manuals_results.cfm?cat=3 To find the local frequencies, the easiest way to find them is a google.com search. Type in your county name and "radio frequencies". Then follow the directions to enter them into your radio. To UNDERSTAND what all the "10-codes"that all the police and fire companies use, google. "radio 10 codes" and you'll get alot of helpful info to download. Have a blast, but don't chase any ambulances.. k

Programming Motorola type II system

The BR330T is an analog only scanner. Prince William County's system is 800 MHz digital, which your scanner cannot receive. You can receive the fire department simulcast of "5A" (their fire dispatch channel) on 154.325 in analog mode.
