Sorry, this has no easy fix. The good news is you do not need an LCD Panel. The bad news is the Video Processor has a problem.
This TV has x3 Boards. The one you should replace first is the one in the middle. If this doesn't fix it, try the one on the right. The Part #s are on the Boards if you wanna try ebay.

Popping noise on my tv

It could be the start of a high voltage leak. A bad anode cap on the red wire going to the picture tub. try putting a little silicone sealer around it and hope the transformer is not the one leaking.

Tv won't turn on. tv made a loud noise and picture went funny. When we tried to plug it later,it just kept making a crackling noise.Does it sound like something that can be fixed?

Power supply is blown. Google it, check ebay (with tv model name) or just part it out and get a new one. You can also buy these used for really cheap off of craigslist.org

Sony Bravia LCD T.V.

It is most likely a fan (there are 2 to 3 of them in the set) that is making the noise. I doubt seriously that the lamp is causing a buzzing noise. The only other buzzing sound can come from the ballast wich powers the lamp.

This sounds like one of the capacitors has dried out. They are metal cylinders containing 2 rolled up strips of foil separated by a gel. Over time the gel can dry out an eventually the strips of foil touch creating a short circuit. A TV repair shop should be able to replace the faulty component relatively easily. I wouldn't recommend trying to do this yourself unless you are very confident you know what you are doing, the voltages present in a CRT TV are very dangerous.
