Vivitar dvr550 battery charger

We lost battery charger and had not used the camera over a year-i assumed a usb charger for a cell phone would work and i bought a new battery. It will not charge even though lights come on but will not power the camera. Any idea whats wrong?

lost AC battery charger. I have the USB and can use it as a web cam but that does not charge the battery. I've been searching for months for an AC battery charger with no luck. I can't even find a replacement battery. I thought that vivitar was a well known and respected name in camera's evidently I was wrong. Their website doesn't offer any replacement parts.

same issue, who's got the answer. What is the power cord for in the box. I assume it's to power up the battery? This is the worst set-up I've ever seen.

Try Sunny Technology Co Inc
Model SYS 1193 1005 W2
It appears to be a universal cell phone charger.
Hope this helps.

How I can charge my batteries on my Vivitar Vivicam 8025 if I don't have a battery charger?

Yes, you may charge the battery through the USB connection. Bear in mind that not all computer USB ports put out enough current to charge batteries. You may also use an AC-powered USB charger, such as used for some cell phones.

What does the charger for a vivitar vivicam X029 look like? And where do I plug it in on the camera

You can use any USB charger, such as used by some cell phones. Or you can connect the camera to a computer's powered USB port. In either case, it plugs into the camera's USB port.

I Have Misplaced My Charger And I Am Wondering If There Is Any Other Way To Charge It Like Maybe In The Computer?

Yes, you can charge the battery by connecting the camera to a powered USB port. Be aware that not all computer USB ports put out enough current to charge batteries, and you want to connect it directly, not through a hub. Alternatively you can use a USB charger that plugs into a wall outlet; such devices are available for cell phones.

Is it possible to obtain a charger for a Vivitar vivicam 8025

One way to charge the battery is via the USB connection. Connect the camera to a powered USB port (not all computer USB ports put out enough current for the job, however). Another is to use a USB charger, as available for many cell phones. You should be able to find such a charger at just about any department, electronics, or office-supply store.

Can you charge camera from USB?

You don't say what make or model the camera is, so I can only answer generally. Most cameras, as opposed to most cellphones, do not charge the battery in the camera at all. They are supplied with a separate mains charger- you take the battery out of the camera and put it in the charger. I have a number of cameras with USB connectors, and none of them charge while connected to the computer.

If you bought the camera new, and it came with a charger, then the camera almost certainly needs the charger to charge the battery. If you purchased it used or it was a hand-me-down, and you didn't get a charger, then the seller or giver has probably been remiss. It won't hurt to leave the camera connected to the computer's USB port to see if it will charge, but when that doesn't work, you can find a replacement charger for your camera by searching Amazon with the camera model number and the word "charger". Better, you can get a "universal" charger on Amazon for as little as $4 that will charge any of the small lithium batteries used in cameras and phones (assuming this isn't a huge battery of the kind fitted to older video cameras). I have a universal charger and it is easy to use and has saved me a lot of money as I no longer need to buy a replacement for every type of battery I come across.

How do i charge my camera so that i can explore

You can charge the battery in two ways.

Use the supplied battery charger. Remove the battery from the camera, put it into the charger, and plug the charger into a power outlet.

Connect the camera via a USB cord to a powered USB outlet. Be aware that not all computer USB ports put out enough current to charge the battery. You might want to consider a cell phone charger that plugs into a power outlet.

Where to get a vivitar vivicam 8025 wall charger or car charger

It should have come with an external battery charger with a wall charger.

Check the cell phone section of a department or electronics store. You should be able to find USB chargers that plug into wall outlets or cigarette lighters. You can use one of those along with the supplied USB cable to charge the camera.
