I am having the same issue

  • Anonymous Dec 26, 2008

The coffee maker is stuck in the E2 mode. I have unplugged, descaled which was hard because it was still in the E2 mode. It was not a cheap coffee maker but it is so unreliable.

I had the same problem. I descaled and tried everything in the manual.  I contacted customer service (thankfully, I had sent in the warranty) and was sent a replacement maker.

In reading the manual for this coffee pot, it needs to have the descaling procedure run. The manual lists running a mixture of 6 cups water and 6 cups vinegar in a normal brew cycle...twice to clean hard water deposits from the machine. It says to make sure to remove the filter basket. Once the procedure is complete, unplug the unit and replug in to remove the E2 code.

A E2 ON A PRO LINE KITCHENAID AFTER YOU DESCALE WITH NO LUCK CAN BE THE AUTO THERMO RESET SWITCH ON TOP OF THE HAETER ASSEMBALY. IF THE THERMO RESET TRIPS BEFORE THE LOWER FLOAT SEES NO MORE WATER THE UNIT WILL ERROR WITH A E2. THE THERMO RESET CUTS OUT AT 110 DEG C AND RESETS TO ON AT 95 DEG C. THATS WHY WHEN THE UNIT SITS FOR AWILE YOU CAN TURN IT ON AGAIN. IF YOU SIT REAL QUIT WHEN IT CUTS OUT AND LISTEN AFTER ABOUT 2-3 MIN YOU CAN HEAR A CLICK OF THE THERMO RESET SWITCH. YOU CAN FIND THESE RESETS THERMO SWITCHES ON THE INTERNET FOR ABOUT $ 2.00.

I GOT MINE FROM EBAY. THEY DO NOT COST THAT MUCH. I THINK THE TEMP IS 110DEG F. YOU CAN JUST SERCH FOR THERMO CUT OUT IN EBAY.

  • PETE B Dec 01, 2012

IF YOU LOOK AT YOUR OLD ONE AND WIPE OFF THE THERMO GREASE IT SHOULD HAVE THE TEMP MARKED ON IT IN SOME FORM OF NUMBERS. IT MAY ALSO BE MARKED IN CELCIUS SO WATCH THAT. WHEN YOU PUT A NEW ONE ON YOU MUST USE NEW HEAT SINK COMPOUND. YOU CAN GET THAT FROM RADIO SHACK OR A COMPUTOR CENTER. IT IS THE SAME THEY USE ON COMUPTOR CPU'S.

Cbrown1232: Mine did the same thing, so I tipped it upside down over the kitchen sink and drained it. When I tried refilling machine again I discovered water was now flowing through it freely (a valve must have opened when I tipped it) so I was able to simply pour several rounds of cleaner through the top of the machine, while catching it from below with another container. Once I did that several times and plugged it in again, the E2 code was gone and it started to cycle normally.

Yes gdskinner, that's what the manual says.

The problem is that you cannot run a descaling procedure while the E2 message is displayed. It tells you to reset it by unplugging the machine for 30 seconds. Except that mine refuses to reset - it's stuck at E2!

My Incanto Sirius coffee maker is acting strange. It automatically keeps brewing (1) large coffee. The only way to stop this is to shut off the machine. I am getting a LCD read out of Program quantity....

Program quantity is trying to program that amount.
When it starts to brew and gets to the quantity you want for that cup size push the brew button again and see if it stops.
