Problem with HP PSC 1210 printer

The alignment is off when printing documents. Items print in a "wave" form. Spreadsheet lines print with a section up, then a section down, etc. Is there a way to fix the alignment?

The strip appears very clean. If I scan a document, the result comes out fine. The problem happens when trying to print from my computer. Is there a setting that I need to adjust?

SOunds like your linear encoider is dirty.

If you look back along the rail that the carriage moves back and forth on, you should see a thin plastc strip...almost clear...going accross. You have to make sure that's clean. If you clean it real well with a lint-free cloth, and it still doesn't work, it needs to be replaced. They're probably not available and you might need a new machine.

Yes...I'm talking about when you print.

The thing that the cartriges go in...It should move back and forth. If it doesn't move, unplug the printer in the middle of a print, and you'll be able to slide it back and forth.

Behind that, you should see a thin sheet of plastic. It runs along the length of the printer, and it's about a half inch wide.

Printer printing blured images and text. It looks as if the printer prints a line then about 1/8 to 1/16 if an inch it prints the same line again.

You need to run a new alignment on the machine, Assuming you have the software installed open up the hp help center and print an alignment page after that look at the numbers and letters and line up the marks by selecting the numbers closet to the perfect alignment that you can see after you have finished click on the front of the printers OK button.to finish they try printing a new page. If this does not help try updating your software at http://www.hp.com.

I have printer HP PSC 500 S/N SGH02E112T WORKED FOR 5 YRS - NOW WILL NOT PRINT EXCEL SPREAD SHEETS OR WORD DOCUMENTS - STILL PRINTS EMAIL AND INTERNET DOCUMENTS HAVE HAD OTHERS CHECK SETTINGS...

Friend,

There's apparently a problem bwtween your Office suite and the spooler. Usually uninstalling/reinstalling the Office suite will fix the problem. (please do a backup of all your Office documents before proceeding!)

When reinstalling, please make sure that any antivirus program is shut down or deactivated during install, in some cases for example Norton Antivirus will block files that need to be updated, causing problems. You SHOULD use some form of virus protection when using your computer, don't get me wrong! :)

Aligning problem

You could try opening the HP toolbox should be under Start--> Control Panel--> Printers and Faxes. under properties os options. It will be something like that. Then print an alignment page put it in the scan section of the All In One as prompted and that should align it also under the setting there will be clean print nozzles. If this fails I would seriously consider just replacing the printer. There also explanations of this at www.hp.com
