In stead of explaining how powerful their servers are. I would like you to understand how do they build such powerful server.
Google, yahoo and microsoft are giants of the internet these days. millions of people hit their servers every day. they build the solutions around DNS, NLBs, Failover clusters, high speed disk arrays and so on. The internal communications happen over a high speed network.
