Hi! That's completly easy. Go to some social network, wher you can chat with your friend. when he answers you, go to comand prompt (cmd) and type in "netstat".

Hey, you wont be able to find your friends ip address unless your on a network but if either yourself or your friend goes to http://www.ipchicken.com/ will give your current ip address.

or if you require the default gateway ip address etc, click start button type in, cmd hit enter and type ipconfig /all

all the best

How do I find out what my new IP address is and how do I reset it so my printer will work?

I suppose that you have a network printer. If so, no matter what is your ip on the computer (this is not the issue). The thing is to know what is the IP of the printer to be able to connect to the printer thru its IP. So, there are 2 solutions.
1. Browse for a network printer (dont think it will work)
2. Local printer -Create a new port (choose IP = type the IP adress of your printer)

Lan is ok but pc cannot open net

Try to check your IP ADDRESS--if its configured properly, please see below:

IP ADDRESS: 192.168.1.13
SUBNET MASK: 255.255.255.0
DEFAULT GATEWAY: 192.168.1.1

DNS SERVER: 192.168.1.1

note: 192.168.1.1, is the IP ADD from your router or from your Internet Service Provider.

Need ip address for syrens, not sure if i remember right: 192.168.1.1???

Hi Stephan,
the ip address of your router by default should be "192.168.1.1". to check if the ip adress of your router here's the solution :
  1. go to control panel > network and sharing/networking >change adapter settings
  2. then you'll see your local area connection
  3. right click on it>properties
  4. double click on (internet protocol tcp/ip) "tcp/ipv4 in windows vista/7
  5. the select "obtain ip address automatically" & "obtain dns server464142c.jpg automatically" click ok and click ok for the other window
  6. double click on your local area connection > detailsb0bf711.png
  7. the dns server ip show should be your router ip adress
  8. open your web explorer and type in your router ip an press "enter" you'll get your router configuration where you'll be able to change the default ip.
I hope that it will help & don't forget to rate

Kind regards

Second LAN not workingI

when you installed xp it has given your pc the default windows ip address; firstly, you will need to check the ip address of your pc that is working through the hub, go to your task bar on right hand side, network icon in the task bar(blue flasing screens)right click, status and then click the support tab. In there you will see the ip address of your pc eg 192.168.2.2, this means your hubs ip address wil be 192.168.2.1 for example, then go to the properties of other pc's network card in control panel, then network conections and on the tcp/ip line click properties again and change it to either obtain ip address automatically or manually insert 192.168.2.3, the next number up from the other pc and a subnet mask as standard 255.255.255.0. the other heatsink problem is that the heatsink originally supplied was supported by your motherboard for checking its temp and speed, but your new one is obviously not supported and is coming up with errors, you should be able to dissable this in the bios F2 or del on boot up.
