I have twin 160 barracuda sata hard drives but this 1.5 controler on the board does not show my drives at all. yes i have tried the my computer right click manage and disks and nothing. device manager two no disks are showing up there ether. nothing showing up in the bios either. enabled the raid too nothing. Its like they are not there even those all cables power are there. i have news bios driver too. good luck on this one.and don't say buy diffrent board please. lol bill

RAID implementations will vary from controller to controller, and even from bios to bios revision or version for the same controllers. You should "image" the raid on the old board, then delete the raid on the old system. In the new system, you need to treat these drives like they are new, blank hard disks. Any partitions will need to be removed, and the RAID created on the new board. Once this is done, you can use your partition imaging software to drop the data back onto the new RAID partition. Seagate I believe has imaging software available in Seatools, or you can use something like Acronis True Image or GHOST.
From what I was able to find it looks like the board is set for IDE Interface connections for the hard drives. But you can make it accept SATA Drives by adapters that plug into the Power Supply cables that go into the hard drive.

If you are trying to install Windows XP then - The problem is that XPinstallation CD does not have a SATA driver, unless you have a SATA drive on adisk etc. and can install the driver when XP asks for a hard drive driver then,XP cannot detect the hard disk and therefore won't install XP.The FIX.Go into the BIOS anddisable the SATA drive (enable IDE emulation), this will make XP think it is aIDE/PATA hard disk. Then you can install XP normally. Hello,Please check the BIOS to see if the SATA ports are enabled. Older boards will disable the sata ports in the BIOS by default. To enter the BIOS, hit the DEl key as soon as you boot the PC. I enabled SATA support on my BioStar M7VIZ-SATA MOBO (it is km400 and 8237r, like yours) by first installing the VIA SATA RAID drivers. At this point, Windows recognized the device controller but not the 120GB drive. The problem was that the system doesn't support "newer" SATA drives, so I installed a jumper on the disk drive to set it to "150" mode... SATA version 1 compatibility. After that, Windows immediately recognized the drive and mounted the filesystem.
I think it was a Western Digital drive. Other manufacturers have a different name for the same jumper. Also, I read that one type (Samsung?) can only be set to the old SATA standard by getting the drive running in a SATA 2 environment, then using a utility program to adjust the drive's microcode setting.
This is an internal hard rive and therefore does not have a USB slot. I assume you are referring to the SATA connector.
The control board is not an item that can be bought separately. You may be able to buy a used drive on ebay.
Try and find someone who can solder the connector back on for you.
Once you reset the bios everything goes to manufactures default settings. You will need to make some changes within the bios. You'll need the help of the manual. See page 3-20. If your operating system is loaded on to the ATA IDE drive make sure you set bios settings as follows: Connect the ATA IDE to MB primary master IDE port. Connect the ATA SATA drive to the MB's first SATA port. ATA Configuration Set as, [P-ATA+S-ATA] S-ATA Keep [Enabled] Set to [Yes] This enables the SATA controller. P-ATA Keep [Enabled] Set to [Yes] This enables the IDE controller. On-chip IDE configuration, "ATA Configuration = [P-ATA+S-ATA]". Next go to Boot menu. Make sure the ATA IDE drive is chosen as boot device three. First boot device [Floppy] (If you have a floppy disk drive connected.) Second boot device would be [DVD/CD-ROM] drive. This should be connected to the MB's secondary IDE port & the DVD/CD-ROM drives Master/Slave jumper, set to Master. Third boot device [ATA IDE drive] If your boot drive is the SATA drive than set: third boot device to the SATA drive. (Hard disk drive with operating system loaded on it). Save your changes & exit the bios. Keep in mind all ATA SATA drives are seen as Master drives. SATA drives are seen by the SATA controller & in order by their connection to the SATA port number. Save & exit the bios. The system will auto restart. Windows should start.
