Is this a trick question, most of them rotate in both directions, changing from time to time as per a preset programme.

Dryer makes a buzzing noise when I turn it on but it doesn't come on, just buzzes.

Open the dryer door and slowly rotate the dryer drum in a counterclockwise (CCW) direction. Rotate the drum 2-3 revolutions and then shut the door and see if it will start. If it continues to just hum and not start could indicate a voltage issue, motor issue or a friction issue. Open the door again and locate the door switch plunger in the upper or lower corner on the hinge side of the drum opening. Hold the plunger in while someone begins rotating the drum counterclockwise. While turning the drum counter clockwise and holding the door switch plunger inwards press the start button. If it starts, there is likely a friction problem or motor problem.

Dryer making a screeching noise when rotating

There are parts inside the dryer that require periodic maintenance, such as oiling the drum wheels, replacing the drum glides - when they become worn.

My dryer makes a buzzing noise when i try to turn it on, but it won't turn on at all. What could the issue be?

The motors centrifugal switch may be stuck. Try having someone start it while pressing in the door switch while you rotate the drum with your hand by grabbing one of the drum vanes. I don't know which direction your drum rotates. Try both. This may start the drum turning on its own and resetting the switch.

Start button buzzes when pressed, dryer doesn't start.

I assume the buzzing quit when you release the start button. Open the dryer door and slowly rotate the dryer drum in a counterclockwise (CCW) direction. Rotate the drum 2-3 revolutions and then shut the door and see if it will start. If it continues to just hum and not start could indicate a voltage issue, motor issue or a friction issue. The dyrer will not turn on. The dryer makes a humming noise but will not turn on.

If it continues to just hum and not start could indicate a voltage issue, motor issue or a friction issue. While turning the drum counter clockwise and holding the door switch plunger inwards press the start button. If it starts, there is likely a friction problem or motor problem. Also, check the blower on the dryer to see if a article of clothing may have gotten stuck there and preventing the motor from running.

Rattles when drying

I need more details but typically a dryer will make a rhythmic rattling noise when loose change and other small metallic objects as well as buttons become trapped in the tumbler impellers (those wing shaped things in dryers).
Loosen and remove the top of your dryer.
Rotate your drum, taking care not to rotate it the wrong way. The right direction of rotation will produce friction to the belt, the wrong direction will cause slack on the belt on one side or the other of the drum.
Rotate the drum until the back side of the impeller is directly on top with the outer screws facing you at the top of the dryer. Remove the screws and pull out the impeller and you will find your noise makers. Do this with the remaining impellers and reinstall.
