Try this - but it will delete all partitions and data on the hard drive:

At the first screen, hit <SHIFT>+<F10>. At the elevated command prompt type:
diskpart
list disk
select disk 0
clean

Try only one at a time it depends on the BIOS if it will support multiple types of input like this.

Sounds like the boot sec is missing run restore disks

For this problem it only means that the Hard Disk of the computer is not being detected

Try doing the ff:

• reseat the IDE or SATA cable of the Hard Disk
  
• Clean the port where the cable is connected (make sure that the computer is unplug)
• reboot the computer
• if problem persist contact computer manufacturer

Check the jumper settings on the primary hard disk drive and set to master. Also check that the cables and connectors are firmly in place.if problem persist, drive may be bad

Both of these files are located in the root directory of the primary hard disk drive. For example, C:\NTLDR and C:\NTDETECT.COM should be the locations of these files on many computers. Please keep in mind that these files are hidden system files, if you need additional help with viewing hidden files in Windows please see document CH000516. Once these files have been copied to a floppy diskette reboot the computer and copy the NTLDR and NTDETECT.COM files to the root directory of the primary hard disk drive. Below is an example of what commonly should be performed from the A:\> drive. copy ntldr c: copy ntdetect.com c: After the above two files have been copied, remove the floppy diskette and reboot the computer. Windows XP users Insert the Windows XP bootable CD into the computer. When prompted to press any key to boot from the CD, press any key. Once in the Windows XP setup menu press the "R" key to repair Windows. Log into your Windows installation by pressing the "1" key and pressing enter. You will then be prompted for your administrator password, enter that password. Copy the below two files to the root directory of the primary hard disk. In the below example we are copying these files from the CD-ROM drive letter, which in this case is "e." This letter may be different on your computer. copy e:\i386\ntldr c:\ copy e:\i386\ntdetect.com c:\ Once both of these files have been successfully copied, remove the CD from the computer and reboot.

Your Hard disk is faulty get is checked by a dell support center.

I assume you meant "primary hard disk drive 0 not found"? Have you pressed F12 during bootup and run the HD diagnostics? If you can't run the diags and it does not show up in the BIOS, then you have a bad hard drive.

I've seen this error many, many times on D600s.

If you just bought the laptop, then it is still covered by a warranty. Then all you have to do is contact the seller or directly to dell. This is the fastest and most appropriate way, and usually you will get one-to-one replacement (they will replace your laptop with new one). But, please make sure by contacting Dell.
