You will need to download a PDF reader from an app shop online. I have no details of your reader but there should be plenty of apps available by now.
Hope that helps.

PROBLEM WITH TABLET CRUZ READER R101

To update the firmware you can follow the directions here http://www.ehow.com/how_7890482_update-cruz-reader-firmware.html

I used a similar method when I had my Cruz Reader R101. This process is called "side-loading"
You will have to download a file to your computer (not your tablet), remove the SD media card from your cruz, then transfer the downloaded file from your computer to it, then replace the SD card to your cruz.

Also you can download the user manual here http://www.retrevo.com/support/Velocity-R101-Tablets-manual/id/23894dj696/t/2/ which shows how to remove the card, and this is a great reference to keep on your reader. For example, page 14 shows how to transfer files to and from your reader. Good luck!

All support is on the support page when you go to products. It is also preinstalled on your reader, just go into your files and look for the pdf.

Hi, my reader is saying "android.process.acore has stopped" Force closing won't work. I know firmware update via zip file is available but it's midnight here and I don't have an sd card handy....

Sorry to hear your are having issues with your Cruz Reader. I have a Cruz Reader R101. Unfortunately you have to update via the SD card for the Cruz Reader. It doesn't do a firmware update from the USB cable.
If you don't want to try and update it now you could also try to just restart it. If you can't get it to restart normally you can remove the back cover and unplug the battery, then plug it back in.

It seems that that the pdf reader app i use, astro, has no bookmark function or anything else. what should i do short of flipping hundreds of page each time i turn it back on?

You can side load Aldiko Reader onto the reader. You can download the .apk from here.

You can install it by downloading the file from the browser on the reader. Tap on the downloaded file, and it should install. Aldiko allows you to import PDF's and does remember the last page you were on when you close the program.

You may have to go in the settings->applications and enable installing from unknown sources.

I hope this helps

How do i get it to connect to my computer to get files from there?

Plug in the USB cable. My Vista machine recognized the Cruz as an external storage device (like a flash drive) and displayed a folder for the internal 4gb flash and another folder for the 2gb SD card I added. You can't access the folders from the Cruz while the PC is connected but you'll see any files you copy over once the cable is disconnected. (use Astro to view files in the folders)

Just bought a cruz reader r101....usb says device not recognized. I am on XP sp3

Before you can communicate with your computer you must run CruzSync from the desktop. There are some driver files that must be sent from cruz to point the way to the reader. After you do this it should connect every time. Some time you will have to pull the USB out and put it back end, especially if the reader or the computer has just woke up from a sleep or hibernation mode. ZumoDrive is the account you must set up when you click or press on CruzSync to make all of this happen. Hope this helps

How to I sync my ebooks to my cruz reader

The easiest way, if you don't have CruzSync on your computer, is with an SD card. Copy the files onto it then put the SD card in your Cruz. Then open Astro from the home screen and find your new SD card and open that up. Or you can use the cradle to transfer files. Open one internal browser to the cruz and one to your e-books then copy and paste them over. You'll fill up your internal memory pretty quickly this way, though.
