Unit runs but will not cool. Followed troubleshooting diections in manual with no luck. Wondering if there is a refridgerant recharge path which is not in the manual

recharging with gas will not be in the manual as it is done using pressure gauges and is a job for an experienced refrigeration technician
call one in as it may not be a gas problem but compressor not running or a blocked tx valve

Window unit is freezing up and it does not cool the room

Ths is usually caused by the air intake filter being dirty or clogged. Remove the filter and clean as necessary. If that doesn't solve the problem, there may be a small leak in the refrigerant coils. In which case, replacing the coils will be required and the compressor will have to be recharged with refrigerant gas.

Hope this helped you and thanks for choosing FixYa.

Hello. I have a Bryant 561CJ030-D AC unit. The fan comes on but doesn't seem to be cooling. We have had record high temps the past couple of weeks (over 100 degrees), and I'm wondering if the...

Is the compressor turning on? The fan may be running, but you will not get cooling effect unless the compressor is circulating refrigerant. It appears your unit is a 2.5 ton unit. What is the square footage of the space being cooled? Is the space insulated?

AC was working perfect before we moved recently. Now it's cooling is very slow? I wonder y?

Depending on how is was placed (Upright, on it's back, or lying flat, as if it was installed) could be the problem. If it was not lying in the same position, as it would be installed, the refrigerant gas ran back into the inner reaches of the compressor and has not returned to where it needs to be.This is usually referenced in the Owners Manual, prior to it being installed the first time. It probably said something to the effect of "allow the unit to sit in the installed position for 8 hours prior to operation". This would allow the refrigerant gas to settle back into place, as well as the oil lubricant in the compressor.

M best advice (Hopefully it's not to late), is turn the unit off for at least 6 hours, to see if everything will settle back into place. If that doesn't solve the problem, you will need to have the compressor professionally recharged. As the existing refrigerant gas will have to be evacuated and captured, before recharging.

Hope this helped you.

start by checking the air filter and clean if dirty, also I would recommnd spraying a coil cleaner on the evaporator coil and clean it. If the unit appears clean then most likely the unit has a leak and will need to be recharged with refrigerant.

I bought a frigidaire refigerator in March, 2007, noticed recently it was getting warmer inside. Pulled it out to clean coils and saw a date stamped on back of fridge with the words fix 06 beside it. What...

It should be OK and not 06 as you mentioned. Please have a look again and reconfirm it. It says that the unit is tested and in good working condition a certification from the final check point of the unit at the factory.

The failure of cooling is due to refrigerant leak and I wonder whether you have moved the refrigerator from the original place of installation. During moving the fridge the condenser coil would have been touched and resulted in refrigerant leak and resulting in poor cooling or no cooling at all. This also would have taken place over a period of time and not instantly on a fine morning. By recharging the refrigerant your unit should cool perfectly.
