Question about Canon Digital Cameras

My viewfinder on my canon powershot sd100 does not show the view.

    No view in the viewfinder.

    Viewfinder shows menu and old pictures, but just stopped showinf new pictures - just totally black. Camera however focusses and shoots as if it sees what I am shooting at.
