If it shows "Unknown" when you nephew calls (as opposed to just showing his number) there is probably nothing wrong with the phone. There is either a problem with you nephew's sending CID on his services' part or a problem with your service provider intrepeting that CID. The phone will only display the information that you company sends to the handset. Do some testing eleminating some of the variables. ie: Have him call another number that uses the same provider as you do. If you are both using the same provider, contact them, chances are it is a glitch on their end. MM85

I transferred the SIM card from one Motorola V3 cell phone to another new one. Now the phone book names don't show phone numbers, only speed dial numbers. Is that a setup issue?

You need to first add new contact this will format sims card after doing so u should be able to go in and find all contacts your pics work the same way.

Razr v3 how to transfer phone# to sim card?

Go to your address book. Find the listing you want to transfer to your SIM card. Select it and then go to EDIT. Now scroll down to where it says STORE TO:
It will either say PHONE or SIM. If it says PHONE you will need to select CHANGE. This will allow you to select between PHONE and SIM. Change it to SIM and click on SELECT. It is now saved to your SIM card.
Have a great day!

Ringtones

I had the same problem... after much fiddling with it, found out that only contacts saved on SIM card could have ringtones assigned. Don't know why... but saving all contacts to SIM & then assigning ringtones worked for me.

Transferring phonebook from phone to sim card

The razr that i had could only store 4 numbers on the sim card, your phone book is stored on your phone's memory not your sim. I'm pretty sure that you cannot transfer your phone book over to your sim card.
