Question about PC Desktops
When i turn my laptop ( acer aspire 1642 WLMi) it reads as " SMART failure predicted on hard disk 0:ST960812A-(PM). Save ur data and press F1 to continue"
what should I do?
Smart is a BIOS based harddrive testing utility, it is warning you that the harddrive is about to fail.
You should back up all your personal files as soon as possible and buy a new harddrive.

SMART is used to measure your HDD health. It warns you of impending failure of your hard drive. If it goes down, it's a good idea to backup important stuff and prepare to replace the HDD.
S.M.A.R.T is an acronym for Self-Monitoring, Analysis and Reporting Technology systems (SMART) and it's usually built in to most modern ATA and SCSI hard disks.
