Yes, most likely your application's margin settings are incorrect. Try printing a test page - NOT from the application. If this is Windows, go to printers in control panel, right-click on the subject printer, choose Properties, then click the Print Test Page button. You should get the standard Windows printer test page with the logo at the top and all the printer specifics below. If the test page is also cut off, look around in the HP-provided software for any margin and/or page size settings that are incorrect, such as A4 paper when it should really be Letter size.

Make sure your tray settings are correct. most likely though the paper tray lead edge registration has to be set. Make sure the tray is not set to 8 1/2 by 11 or A3 paper.
Do you want me to send you the info? Or if you have a maintenance agreement place a service call since that has to be done in diagnostics.
But I can forward that procedure to you if you provide an E-mail address.

SOURCE: Printer does not print whole document

In 'Print Preview' look at the margins, and see if anything is too close to the edge of the paper. If it is, then set your margins further from the edge, or drag graphics further from the edge, etc.

To correct the margins that are set to close to the edge of the paper, open the document in Microsoft Word and follow these steps:

  1. Make sure that you are using the same printer driver that gave you the error in Microsoft Word Viewer.
  2. In Word, on the File menu, click Page Setup.
  3. Click OK.

You receive a warning dialog box about the unprintable regions.
  4. Click the Fix button.
  5. Save and close the document.
You can now open and print the document in Word Viewer without receiving the error message.

SOURCE: Black line at left margin when scanning any document CX3900

Two possibilities that I can see here:

  1. The surface of the scanner needs to be cleaned.
  2. There is a problem with the scanning head. In this case call your warranty on it, they may want to replace it.

SOURCE: I need to print some cards with my printer, is it

This is normal. Practically all printers have a 'non-printable area' which forms a border at the top and bottom and left and right hand sides of the page. Whilst your software may allow you to work with a zero margin, your printer is physically incapable of printing in the non-printable area and will simply cut-off any text or images that overflow into this region.

The best solution is to reduce the number of cards on your page so that you can bring the text back within the printable area of the page. Then print with normal or wide margins and trim the excess from your cards.

Hi,
The default paper selection/ size in MS Word is 'letter'. you may have designed the document on letter size and while printing you have A4 size paper in the printer.
So, Make sure that you design the document on the same paper size (such as A4, which is commonly used). Secondly, while printing don't print the document directly. From the Print dialogue option choose the exact paper size and un-check (de-select) any option of paper resizing (if available). You will have the documents printed exactly as designed.

Let me know if any further clarification/ assistance is required.

Hope it helps! Good Luck! Thanks for using Fixya!

Bottom of page is cut off sometimes printing from vista computer

Hi- I'll try to solve this.

Go to the start menu and open the Control Panel. Double click on Printers. Right click the L7580 printer and choose "Printing Preferences" On the preferences window click on the "Advanced" tab. Make sure "Advanced Printing Features" is set to "Enabled" Under "Printer Features" turn "Minimize Margins" to "On"

This should solve the issue. If minimize margins is off, it will cut it off at the bottom.

Printer will occasionally print incomplete document

Sounds like an issue with the bottom margin and/or footer if you are using a footer. Check the page setup and reduce the bottom margin.

Printing document

Did you change the top margin setting?

Make sure that the paper size is correct in the printer settings of the control panel when you print. You have to tell it what size paper you are printing on.
