Those IC's don't go bad so fast, Are you sure?Did you test them.? 1st check all capacitors & resistors in and around the ckt. The damaged part does not have to be in the same space and could be on the other side of the board.Check 1st, then replace.

TV MODEL :SANSUI HARD ROCK 21'' PROBLEM : TIME TO TIME ONE HORIZONTAL LINE COMING WITH BLACK SCREEN

Hi The problem of your teevision is what we called the vertical line problem. The problem is in the vertical section of the board. There are many of cause of that problem.First is either loose connection, the circuit at the vertical section have cold solder so its need to resolder using soldering iron.Second,it maybe no vertical supply, its better to check the 12 volts dc supply of vertical ic output.if thers no supply in the ic,there a open resistor near the flyback.try to replace.Third if theres no loose connection and have a voltage supply the problem is either leaked capacitor or deffective vertical ic output. Commonly in that problem is the loose connection, try to resolder the verical section.

The image on the TV has sort of condensed and disappeared. Now there is a bright line across the middle of the screen and a sliver of (about an inch) of image above that line. The rest of the screen is...

You have a vertical output IC that needs repaired. You may need to only resolder the vertical output IC. If then you do resolder, you will need to check and replace any capacitor in the immediate area of the vertical IC. A weak or bad capacitor will heat up the IC, and create rings on the pins under the IC. Also check the solder grounds on any resistor and diode that are immediately near this IC. This will bring your TV back to full view. Thanks for asking and show a few hands of support!

My tv has many lines in the screen. what kind of problem is this and what does it need to be fixed?

You may be suggesting a convergence problem..when the blue and red boxes will not center. You have bad grounds on the convergence ICs. Resolder or replace theses ICs. Or you may be asking about a problem in the vertical section. Vertical problems will appear as horizontal lines on the TV. In this case you have bad capacitors near ithe vertical IC and must also resolder or replace the vertical IC.

Check the vertical circuit for bad caps or bad soldering.

My Zenith tv plays well, then the picture starts jumping and then picture goes off. Repair man has had tv for almost 2 months and can't seem to find out what is wrong.

Check the Vertical output IC and the Solder connections on the Vertical deflection yokes. Bad solder on the yoke plug connectors will cause the same symptom, and the Vertical IC may just need to be resoldered as thats fairly common with that model.

This is a convergence problem that is either poor solder connections at the convergence ICs or defective ICs. These are largel black ICs attached to a heatsink that should be marked STKxxx. If you can solder, you can fix this yourself. Try resoldering the pins on the ICs. If that fails to resolve the problem, replace the ICs. It is possible that there will be additional components that require replacement as well. Please keep us posted on your progress. Also, since there are high voltages present even with the set unplugged, please be careful inside the set.

I have no idea so if you can help thanks

The board on the left will have a series of small aluminum heatsinks with black ICs attached to them one of them will be the vertical output IC with about 7 pins on it. try resoldering those ICs and you should get the picture back as the vertical ICs will make the tubes cut off. The vertical IC should be marked on the board but solder all the ICs mounted to heat sinks on that board to be safe.

SOUND BUT NO PICTURE

try resoldering the vertical output IC. have seen bad solder on that model make the picture tubes blank as a safety feature when vertical deflection drops out.
