Question about Whirlpool Washing Machines

1 Answer

I moved my whirlpool washing machine to a new location in my house and it now stops after filling and won't wash. I have turned the feet knobs to make sure they all touch the floor and changed the hoses around in case I had them running to the wrong taps and nothing has worked

Whirlpool Ultimate Care II LSB200KQ1 Top Load Washer - the washer filled and then stopped. No humming, no sound, no action when we turn the knob. Thoughts?

The limit switch that detects that the lid is closed is probably defective. You've already probably experienced how the agitator would stop if the lid was opened when the machine was working properly--same thing.

Washing machine won't fill. i filled it by hand with water, it won't agitate either, only spins.

The inlet solenoid is probably bad. And it won't agitate unless it fills and stops filling automatically.

Whirlpool Washer will not progress to the rince cycle.

that is either a problem with the timer , or with the cold water hose at the back of the machine, see the following:

I quote from : The cycle doesn't advance

The cycle doesn't advanceWhen the cycle doesn't advance, it's probably the timer or a cold-water supply problem:

  • It'sthe timer, if your washing machine fills with water and beginsagitating, but the timer never advances--or if the washer is in a spincycle and the timer won't advance. Then you need to replace the timer.

  • Itmay be a cold-water supply problem, if the washing machine fills withwater, agitates, drains, and spins, but then doesn't fill with rinsewater. See There's no cold water.

    GE Washing Machine

Water level sensor must be malfunctioning and possibly needs to be replaced and/or water inlet electric valve is malfunctioning (getting no "signal" from level sensor to stop filling). Turn of the machine, unplug it, turn off the water and call the repairman unless you'd like a flood or the fire in the house!
