I have the model TFX26KPDA sidexside and have cleaned both the drain plug and hose 2 times now. The drain hole is frozen again after a week and ice is building up on bottom self again. Is there a part such as drain plug heater to keep the plug from freezing ?

I have this same problem unfortunately you will just have to clean the drain hole out occasionally, I usually use boiling water to clean it out and it lasts 3 or 4 month sometimes more before I have to do it again. Sorry I can't help further

I have this same exact problem - but am a little unclear of the solution - maybe the user rodneydt can provide details of their conclusion/results.

I had the same problem and I used some model clay and filled up the corners andall the way to the top and all along the bottom up to the drain hole to make a U shape to help drain the water to the hole and my refrigerator was too level so I tiped it back a hole bubble on the level. The door swings a little fast now if not careful but stoped the water from freezing up.

More likely, the defrost system has failed.
There are three components: Defrost timer, a defrost heater, and a defrost bi-metal.
The timer can be located either in the food compartment, on the rear of the unit, or behind the kickplate. The heater and bi-metal are located behind the freezer rear wall (or freezer floor, depending on design). It's easiest to unplug the fridge overnight, with the freezer door open, to melt all the ice that has developed. PRIOR to doing all this, please ensure that there IS ice forming on the wall of floor of the freezer! Let me know. I hope this helps!

No refrigerator that has no defrost timer, expecially the model number you provided.

If that solution provided did not clear to you.call service man to check it out for you then you learn more. Am not there to see exactly what you saw, I suggested base on experience.

Check out if your drain hole was blocked, get rid of it by pouring little hot water on it till you see water driping out through you drain pan at the bottom of your refrigeration.

GE Profile leaking onto floor

Clean the drain pan and drain line in the back of the freezer section behind the cover underneath the evaporator coil. (hint: use turkey baster with hot water) Make sure water drains when you pour it in. If it doesn't - also clean drain tube on the back of the unit behind the cover. When done - put the tube exactly where it was.
Good luck! :)

Leaking water and ice build-up in freezer

There's a drain hole in the freezer side behind the bottom drawer in the back wall that must be clogh ; put hot water into it untill melted the ice and keep pouring water to clean the drain (don't worry , the water goes to an evaporative tray) .Keep the drain clean by putting every 3/4 months half a cup of clorox or bleach.

10 yr old GE side by side: freezer is leaking

Your drain is frozen up and so every time unit goes into defrost the water refreezes in the freezer's bottom. You either have to shut fridge off completely and let it dethaw or use hot water and an ice pick to hurry up the process. The drain is located in the very back of freezer. You will have to pull out the bottom drawer to see it. Good luck

Check to see if the drain at the bottom of your freezer is plugged. When the refrigerator goes on defrost, the water has to go somewhere. Look below the coils in the freezer section and see if there is ice in the drain.

I you dont have any water hooked up for the ice maker or for water at the door, about the only thing left is your freezer drain. Look in the back under the freeser side and look for a drain... see where it drains.. over flowing? anyway water could get out from where in drains to?
