Is there a small reset button on the back of the dvd player or inside where you put the DVD in. Push the button and see if that makes a difference.

Make sure it's plugged into an electrical outlet that works. Is the power cord removable? If so, then make sure it is inserted completely. Again of it is removable, then you might have accidentally gotten the DVD player's power cord mixed up with another removable power cord from something else. Sometimes, the power cord will have the DVD player's name on it.

In need of a power cord for my mintex 1600 dvd player

You usually don't need to call the company to replace the power cord. Go to Radio Shack or your hardware store and find one that will plug in. By calling the company and getting an OEM replacement you will be paying extra for the name on the package. I have bought a cheap small appliance just for the power cord. A bit of leg work will save you aggravation and money.

No power

I have a friend that had the same problem, I opened the machine and found that the fuse had blown. Took a small piece of wire and just touched it, very brief, and every thing came on, just breifly to test, not prolonged because you don't the rated fuse for that part, I now know what is the problem, I just have to get the fuse and souder it in.

It sounds like there is a connection inside the dvd player itself. If you feel comfortable taking it apart you will prob. see if there is a missing connection.Hope this helps!
