Question about Fisher and Paykel GWL11 Top Load Washer

Washer wont turn on

The washer wasnt used for a couple of months. When I plugged it in the washer lights came on and went off again right away and wont turn back on. I've checked the common sense things like the fuse box and the plug in works. The cord is connected tightly to the unit. Is there a reset button or a fuse in the panel I'm not seeing? The washer worked fine until now. Please Help!!

Exactly the same problem, but on a Smart Drive 703. No fuses - power in the right places but just won't turn on.

I've figured out how to solve my problem. I'm buying a washer and dryer with a name I'm familiar with. This also doesn't require you to pay an "expert" online to try and figure out what the problem is. I'm learning Fisher and Paykel quality is very low and the price is very high. I have called repairman to look at the washer and 2 of them said it will cost more to fix than the things worth. This set isn't 2 years old yet and is actually used in a second laundry room for when the kids and grandkids are home. I have an Admiral set that is used constantly for 5 years now and no problems. I will go with Admiral or whirlpool for my lifetime. Sorry Fisher and Paykel your product just isn't what you claim it to be.

The washing machine will start turn a few times add some water but then stops and the light flashes

Sounds like unbalanced now - try to rebalance the adjustable knobs under the washer - we have to rebalance every few months because our floor isn't the straightest. We always know when its time because the washer won't work right.

Washer wont start, where are fuses I keep reading about?

Probably not a fuse on the machine. Troubleshooting guides always say something like, "check fuses, check breaker" meaning to check for power to the machine first. It's the first thing to check when diagnosing problems.
I own a laundromat and had a normally very reliable machine that did everything right but it would not spin. I checked and rechecked everything and at some point it would run again and the next day broke down again. This went on for a couple months. Eventually i put the machine "out of order" and it sat for a week like that. Through trial and error, flipping the breaker on and off it became apparent that it was the breaker causing the problem. When i investigated i realized the 220 breaker had simply pulled away from the bottom and was no longer properly making full contact. It had enough power to perform all the functions but not enough to spin. After reseating the breaker the machine has been trouble free. If i'd checked that first instead of thinking the machine had plenty of power because it seemed to be doing everything else correctly i'd have saved a lot of time and frustration.

But enough about my life lessons. Does your machine have any power at all going to it?

LG Washer WM2277HW wont turn on what can I do?

I would try plugging it into a different self dedicated outlet. It also might be the internal plug connection. Use a heavy duty extension cord to see if it works off a different circuit.

Hi i have been away for few days washing machine was fine i dont use it very often as i live alone and takes a while to acumilate enough washing to use the machine. its a WIL163 Just loaded the washer...

Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,
Sorry but with such a major fault it is virtually impossible for anybody on this forum to remotely guess what is wrong with your washer. It could be internal wiring/plugs sockets, control panel switches, control PCB. I fear that your only real option is a service call as the engineer will have the right equipment to safely diagnose what is wrong.
Sorry again and good luck,
John C

I just ran into a similar problem. Ours was stuck on Normal with 42 min. Started beeping every couple minutes last night after bad rain storm. Couldn't get it to stop. it would turn off if I hit stop and a couple minutes kater (like 2min) it would come on by itself. Left it unplugged overnight until about 6:00pm. Plugged it back in and it wnt right back to the normal mode after about 2min. HOWEVER, I keft it sit with the lid open and it beeped every couple minutes for a while then suddenly stopped. I checjked it and it is off, hasn't come back on. I haven't tried to run a load through it yet, so I don't know if it is fixed or not..

The water switch to the washer wasnt turn on due to no water going to the washer from the hose it was blinking red H symbol I tried to cancel load to restart and machine stays on and wont start new cycle...

Just unplug the washer and wait a couple of minutes before you plug it back in. That should clear the code and let you get the door open.

Hope you find this Very Helpful and best regards!
