There is a hold switch somewhere on your ipod. It is a black (or silver) oval switch. I have an ipod classic 80GB and my switch is on the top of my ipod. Since your ipod is different, it might be somewhere else. When you find it, push it to the left and orange should appear on the right side. Your ipod won't be locked anymore.

I hope you didn't mean that you forgot your combination on the screen lock. If you did, sorry I don't know what to do.

I hope this solution was helpful. Please rate it.

I'm sorry if I sent this multiple times.

Make sure the switch on top of the unit is in the unlock position. If it still isn't doing anything, press and hold the center button while holding down on the menu button. This will reboot your ipod.

Brand new I-pod touch, forgot the screen lock password. is there a way to reset or recover it without having to restore the device?

According to Apple, if you have forgotten the code, you can unlock the IPod by doing the following:
Connect your IPod to the primary computer you use it with (the first one IPod synced with), and open iTunes.
When you disconnect iPod from the computer, it will no longer be locked.
If you can't unlock IPod using either [the code or connecting it to the computer you use to manage its songs]. . . you can restore your iPod to factory settings using iPod Updater. Please note that this will erase all data on your iPod.
Afterwards, you can add your music and data back to your iPod.
If you want to change the primary computer that your IPod is associated with, do this:
1. Restore your iPod. WARNING: The restore process cannot be undone.
All of your songs and files will be deleted. Always make a backup of your important data.
2. Connect your iPod to the computer that you want to be the primary computer.
3. Open iTunes and synchronize.
Apple also notes that company "representatives cannot unlock an iPod if you forget your combination. If you can't unlock your iPod and you don't have access to the primary computer, your only option is to restore the IPod, which will erase all music and data."

Can you unlock my ipod nano

In the Apple Support Site, Apple notes that the "Screen Lock" function:

Allows you to set a 4-digit combination to prevent someone else from using your iPod while it is not attached to a computer. When an iPod is locked, you must enter the combination to unlock the screen. This feature is different from the Hold switch in that the Hold switch only prevents iPod from turning on accidentally -- not keeping snoops out.

Screen Lock only locks users out of the user interface. It does not encrypt data on your iPod. For example, if you use Screen Lock and then connect your iPod to a computer, you'll be able to manage music on your iPod with iTunes and access all data on it in disk mode (contacts, notes, and any other files you have stored on the iPod).

This support document also provides additional information on locking and unlocking the iPod. According to Apple, if you have forgotten the code, you can unlock the iPod by doing the following:

Connect your iPod to the primary computer you use it with (the first one iPod synced with), and open iTunes
. When you disconnect iPod from the computer, it will no longer be locked.

How can i unlock my ipod nano 4GB

"Screen Lock" is provided by the iPod nano, iPod (5G), and subsequently released iPod models. Earlier iPods do not offer this feature.

I WANT TO DELITE 415 SONGS. MY BROTHER MADE A MISTAKE AND DOWNLOADED FRUITY LOOPS FILES OF SOUNDS INSTEAD OF MY SONGS WHAT CAN I DO TO DELITE THEM

I'll do my best to help you.

First, I could be wrong but I don't think you can delete songs directly from the Ipod. What you can do is plug it into Itunes and when your player is recognized make sure the Sync Automatically is unchecked and the Manage Music Manually (Third block down, It says something like that) is checked.

On the left side, under your Ipod select music. All your music files will be displayed. You can either individually delete the songs or, by holding in Ctrl and clicking the songs you dont want, highlight them all and do one mass delete.

Secondly, when all of the files are erased from your Ipod, go to the music portion in the Itunes library and delete these songs there as well so he cannot put them back on. (It's also a great way to get back at him for messing with your Ipod by erasing all of his songs)

Good luck and if this helped you please give me a 4 thumbs up rating! After you do all that if you wouldn't mind replying to my post, let me know how it went.

Connect it to the computer and click Restore. You'll erase all your music but it's the only way to get through without knowing your password.

Ipod touch wound sync to my computer. i had a nano first. when i tryed to sync my ipod touch i did not reg. to my computer, i just tryed to copy my music to the new ipod. my daughter shares our music from...

Open iTunes (without iPod connected). Create a new playlist and copy songs you want on your iPod into that list. Next connect your iPod. Once iTunes recognizes your iPod then go to the music tab and click on 'sync playlist only' and chose the new playlist that you created. Click sync. Only the songs in your new playlist should be copied to your iPod.

Ipod Nano can't unlock volume lock

I assume your music is stored safely in iTunes on your computer? If so, just do a Restore on the iPod through iTunes to reset your iPod to the factory defaults. You will have to copy your music back, but the lock will be removed.

If your music is not saved on a computer, use software such as ephPod to get the music off - then do a Restore. (see: http://www.engadget.com/2004/11/02/how-to-get-music-off-your-ipod/)

Good luck.

Unlock ipods

Very simple. In iTunes with the device connected choose Restore on the main screen. This will reset to the default settings without removing the music (unless this is the first time you have synced it to that PC in which case you will want to rip the music off).
