Ok, so you have power. Are there any lights on in the front? I'm assuming by power that the powersupply fan must be coming on when you either plug it in or push the power button.

How do boot e machines 8230 with no keyboard

Hi

The pc has a POST (power on self test) default that it runs before the pc can boot.

it is a hardware default setting that cannot be bypassed without connecting a keyboard or mouse to it
24564297-m35oz4jvdfvvmght4a51n0jl-2-0.jpg

the CMOS settings may allow you to disable the keyboard and mouse function before the pc boots if that pc has the feature

24564297-m35oz4jvdfvvmght4a51n0jl-2-1.gif
f1 or delete etc to access it

then go through each setup setting and see if there is a disable function to disable the keyboard or mouse etc

Computer won't do anything, keyboard does not light up, screen is blank

So there is not so much as a BIOS message on screen? Any beeps?
If there is no life at all, you have a CPU/motherboard failure. This may be direct or indirect (e.g. no power to MoBo). Check your connections.
Otherwise, your boot device may not be operating. This is usually a dead or disconnected HDD. Check that it is plugged in. Does it get warm? Can you feel any vibrations from it? It should spin even if your cpu is dead but MoBo is alive.

Keyboard locked

If they are PS/2, power off make sure that they are not plugged into the wrong port, they will fit....but won't work that way.

If they are USB, try booting into safe mode and see if they work there

Pressing [F8] repeatedly on boot is how to get the Safe Mode options to appear, then use the Arrow-keys, (up or down,) to highlight a Safe Mode option, then press [Enter] to select it.

My hp p6620f does not boot at startup

Hi Netty,

Firstly remove the RAM memory from the main board, clean it with an anti static spray and replace it making sure it sits firmly in its slot.
Try to turn on your PC again. If it still won't switch on you may have to replace the power supply. First check this by plugging in a power supply from another working PC.
Best wishes,
Graemevm

None of the keys work on hp logo screen F10, f11. f9. esc system won't boot from hard drive or cd

Hi,

are you using a usb keyboard? A lot of systems require a ps/2 (purple round connector) keyboard to access the bios settings and anything on the startup screen unless you have set usb on boot in the bios settings. I would try connecting a ps/2 keyboard and see if it helps.

Hi Tilley;
Power Off your PC
Remove Keyboard
Power ON your PC, do you see "No keyboard detected"? anyways
POwer Off your PC again
Now,insert back your keyboard, POWER ON and make sure you see 3 lights blink in your keyboard

better yet, use your keyboard on another PC just to make sure its working.

Hope this helps, i often do this procedure when my keyboard doesnt work...
