It tells me the recovery partition is removed and the reset option is disabled. Is there some other way I can restore my recovery without purchasing the disks from HP?

Hi

you have not stated what model you have,or what operating system, but if your HP has a CD/DVD drive and you have a windows operating system, why not just make yourself a recovery disk. It will be better than the HP disks because it will be more up to date. In fact, it is a good idea to make a new one periodically,to keep reasonably up to date. If you don't know how to make a recovery disk you can find clear instructions on Google. Or, ask again on here.

Were to find restore disk for acer 6930?

There is no restore disk unless you burnt a ciopy of the recovery disks when it was first purchased, that can still be done if it boots ok to windows, its under acer erecovery manager where you can also run a recovery from the hidden recovery partion, but if not booting then press Alt + F10 immediately after powering on about every second and that will also take you to the recovery manager, if it has been completely wiped then you will have to purchase recovery dvd's from Acer.

What kind of dvds to I get to create the recovery discs for this computer. I need to know exactly as i am new to a notebook computer

Please provide with make and model number. You might want to contact the manufacture for the disk. Sometimes they require to buy the disk. They should have provided you with recovery disk. Also it's best to ask for install disk when you purchase the notebook. It is common they don't because it saves them money.

How to put the recovery partition back on the emachines t5048

As far as i know the only way is to run the restore disk from emachine that is for your model computer. (it usually wipes the computers hard disk in the process.)

the link below will take you to their support site for drivers.

on that site look for eMachines Recovery Media Purchase Program and you can see about ordering the recovery disk that you need.

I need a recovery disk for Sony Vaio VGN-NR11s/s . The notebook was formatted and i didn't created recovery disks and it needs recovery disks to intall the programs to the unit

Contact Sony with the purchase date/info & seriel #. They will either replace the disks free or for a nominal charge in most cases. They are the only source to get the recovery disks for your system as purchased. Sorry.

Missing recovery disk for Composer 5100

The recovery disk is usually stored as a separate partition on the hard disk itself (Mostly in cases of laptop disks), so when ever you purchase laptops with pre-installed Operating System, The very first thing you do is create a CD/DVD recovery disk ie burn the recovery partition on the CD/DVD.
so that you can use the same DVD in case the OS crashes.
In your case as your hard disk was crashed and replaced ask the people from where you purchased the laptop/pc to restore it to the new hard disk, or purchase the Operating System.

hope this clears the doubt

Toshiba Satellite A85 Laptop

You can call Toshiba service center and purchase the recovery software if you know your model number. I did this with an A45 -popped the recovery disk in, started the computer and the computer immediately reads the recovery disk and walks you through the process.

Need 25-character Vista key to buy backups from MS!

Hello John,

Unfortunately none of the PC manufacturers, with the exception of Toshiba and Dell, ship with recovery disks anymore. Instead, you have the option to create recovery disks after you purchase the computer. HP for example, used 3 DVD-R's to create recovery disks. And when you use those discs to recover your system it will revert it back to the way it was when you purchased it. So unfortauntely, the only way to get a set of recovery discs is to purchase them from HP. They cost about $30 on average. And unless you want to just purchase a new full copy of windows, purchasing the recovery discs are the only way to recover your system... legally.

To order HP's discs, just go to their support site at www.hp.com and search for your model number. It will then give you the instructions on how to order your specific discs.
