If you need the whole motor assembly you can get it from Sears at this website. www.searspartsdirect.com I just need a set of brushes for the motor

I've got the same problem. Sears wants $53 plus shipping for a replacement power assembly which is the price of a new vacuum of the same size. Where can I, and this poster, get just the motor?

Then the motor brushes may be worn, or a winding is open circuit. Sears is pretty good at replacement parts, and they probably can supply just the motor assembly.

Shop vac fuse

Very rarely do vacuums have a fuse in them. You probably have a bad switch or possibly a bad motor.

Mod.#J150A shopvac won't turn on

These units are not high quality. There are problems with the motors and the switches, you can check these things or just get another one. If you get another one, get a different brand.

Do you need a special filter for wet application

Yes. The following site shows the filters and which is used for what. Due to potential motor damage, I wouldn't use it without the proper filter.

Shopvac 90L400 quit working (4 years old). Thought the switch was bad but not the problem. I read that there is a fuse link in the motor that frequently burns up. I tried to take motor apart but not sure...

by pass the switch and take power right to the motor leads.. that should tell you if the motor is ok.. have not seen fuse link on a vac motor.. graingers has new motors, but not inexpensive

Explain how to re-wire 16gal craftsman shopvac, switch wires are- 2 orange wires, one white, one black and one green(grd wire), I pulled them off and don't where each wire goes.

Im not looking at a diagram of your machine.

Typically, in a switch circuit ... the green goes through; the white goes through; the black is broken by the switch.

The two orange wires you speak of ... those come from where? Are they from the motor? If yes, one connects to the white and one connects to the switch.

I hope this helps you

Need new switch for Shopvac QSP Pro 10 gallon unit

I just went through the same problem with a Shop Vac. The switch is easy to replace but not easy to find. After removing the switch, I found a match made by Sigma Switches. They directed me to contact a local RV dealer and look in either their Coast Supply or Stag/Parkway Supply catalogs for the appropriate switch (an H2-28 in my case for a QPL45 Shop Vac). After ordering the switch and $5 later, it snaps in like the original with no problems. Certainly beats $70 for a whole new motor assembly.

Shop vac QPL625 on off switch stays on.

Contact Digi-Key 1-800-344-4539 or 218-681-6674 ask for part number EG1505-ND.

Cost is about $2.00 plus shipping.

See http://search.digikey.com/scripts/DkSearch/dksus.dll?Detail&name=EG1505-ND for part details.

You want a D.P.S.T (On/Off) mini-rocker switch.
