Laptop

I have a HP Pavillion ZV5000, and the charger end will not charge, It has been a problem for a while, but if I plugged it in just right it would charge, know it will not. I belive the problem is with the connection in the computer.
Cant this be repaired and if so how much would it be, and would it be worth repairing or should I just give up and get a new laptop?

Wizplease check first that does the notebook work fine on the battery mode.
if system does not work on battery mode also it is a fault of the board that would have to be replaced
if it works fine on battery, then the problem could be with the adapter
to check the same, please try using another adapter or the same adapter on another hp notebook.
if the adapter does not work on another notebook, please get the adapter replaced.
