I hooked up my sony Playstation 2 and when I went back to TV mode, no picture, just snow. Channels 1,2 and 3. Normally plays on channel 3. Checked all cable connnections to the cable box, tv, wall. Plays the video game on Video 2 mode and that's all. This happened a few years ago when someone hooked up a game system. I dont remember how they fixed it. Thank you.

Re: Can't get TV picture after hooking up PS 2
Double check what you have the cable box connected to on the TV. If it is on the RF connector, it should be channel 3 or 4 on your TV tuner. The playstation should not have any effect on the cable box connection, so the problem is how the TV is set up. Going thru the RF connector, your TV should be set to channel 3 or 4. I know you said you checked that, but you should double check that just to be certain. You may have been putting the cable box on channel 3 and not the TV tuner on channel 3. Also try channel 4, it could be the cable box got switched to that somehow.
Does the cable box go thru a VCR? If so, you need to put that on channel 3 or 4 if it is turned on.
I am pretty sure your problem is with the settings somehow. Also make sure the cable box is turned on. It is easy to make a simple mistake and sometimes hard to figure out just what that mistake was.
Check the TV menu as well, and make sure everything is set properly there.

If you are using the A/V cables (the red, white, and yellow ones), you might have a short in the video portion of the cable. Try unplugging and plugging in again or wiggling the wires around a bit. Otherwise, I would suggest finding another cable.
Could possibly be that it is not connected up correctly, or your playstation has died. If you have access to another playstation, hook it up to your cables as they are hooked up. If the screen works. Your playstation has died.
If not, and you have the same issues, try their cables, and if that doesn't work. You have it plugged in incorrectly.
Check that the input mode of the TV is appropriate for the connector in use on the PLAYSTATION®3 computer entertainment system.
There may be a problem with the cable in use. Try using another cable that is compatible with the PLAYSTATION®3.
the video output settings on the PLAYSTATION®3 do not match those of
the cable or TV in use, there may be no picture. If the screen goes
blank, turn off the system.
Then, with only the PLAYSTATION®3 and the TV connected,
touch the system's power button for more than 5 seconds to turn the
system back on. The video output settings will automatically be reset
to the standard resolution.

you need a ps3 scart lead. i think the one of the ps2 is the same but check. it should just hook up like a ps2. if you are having any problems with the picture hold down the power button when you start up the ps3 for 10 seconds this runs the optimal screen settings for the cable you are using. but if it is the first time you are using the ps3 it will auto start in set up mode. hope this helps
If you have it hooked up to a digital box, it shouldn't matter if the TV is on cable or antenna mode. The only thing that matters is that the TV is on channel 3. Channels will be changed on digital box. Some newer TV's use input 1 or 2 or AUX for it to work. If I were you i would hook everything up and start playing with the channels going up and down until you get a picture.
