Question about Dell Inspiron 6400 Notebook
I purchased a dell inspiron 6400 1.5 year ago and never had used the
recording drive. Now I want to make a full back up and tryed to work
the hd and a sonic software appeared with a bunch of commercial adds .
I understand the drive does not record, as the software was a limited
What can I do? : A) how can I update my software? or B) should I set up another software like NERO.
I called up to dell (poor help) and some informed that thru windows xp is also possible to burn a cd , but I could not find according to very confusing and non coincident directions from microsoft.
Pls advise . thank you beforehand.

Don't use the built in burning capabilities that Windows has. The software doesn't work very well and most of the time you won't get a good burn. I use Nero and have no problems, so, I would suggest using Nero for burning. I believe you can download Nero from filehippo.com
