A E2 code deals with the scanner. The optics of the copier. Has itbeen moved resently? Your lens may be off it's track. Turn the copier off and remove the copy board glass and the Black Box and try to move the lens and the scanning mirrors to see if they can move smoothly. If not you have found your cause of the noise and what needs to be repaired. It may not be worth getting fixed. That is older model, it's up to you..

You said you unplugged your copier, did you unplug it for 10 to 15 minutes before plugging it back in, plug it into a differed
outlet that you know works and plug it directly into a wall outlet instead of a power strip. Check to see if your copier reaches stand-by mode then make a test sheet.
If this does not work then you have probably have an internal processing component which requires attention.
Your scan lamp is going bad. It is the flourecent type lamp that lights up under the glass. You can try making a copy with the top cover open and watch it. You will see it flickering before the code comes up.

A E210 has to do with the scanner part of the copier. Is the lens moving OK on warm-up? Dose it move at all and what about the optic's do they move at all? I would need some more info on the problem.... I don't want to lead you on, that it is a easy fix... It is a fairly older copier.. It may not be worth repairing
Looking at the copier where the paper comes out of, there is a switch to open and close it. Pull up and look on the left side in the back. There is a little spring that comes off, or breaks, or the plastic that holds it on breaks. THIS CAN PAPER JAM THE MACHINE AND SEEM LIKE A MAJOR PROBLEM. ALL IT IS IS A LITTLE SPRING. Hope that is only your problem.
