Re: Acer Crystal Eye webcam
First goto device manager to see if you are able to see webcam installed and no yellow icon on it..if you don't see then its probably that the drivers are not installed and you need to install drivers .use windows update to install recommanded drivers for you cam.If you don't know how to use windows update then let us know which operating system you are using so that experts from fixya can direct you using it..

Also remember that anytime you are installing or downloading software, you need to turn off all other running proggys including your internet security/virus control. Your firewall may easily corrupt an install. Just be sure to turn it back on when you are finished.
I had the same problem with the Extensa 5420-5687 as well, I went to the device manager and found my crystal eye webcam (there was a yellow exclaimation point on it) I tried to update the driver software by having it search automatically for the software, but it just said that it was up to date...that still didnt fix my problem. So i tried browsing my computer for the driver. I picked "let me pick from a list of drivers on my computer" I then clicked on "Acer crystal eye webcam" then i hit next, it then installed the updated driver. After that my webcam worked again!
