Thank you, well I paid the $15 for the premium assistance program and
the expert had me uninstall all my Canon printer software and then
re-install it from the disk and I have the same problem. She mentioned
I should see if I can take the printer back and have it repaired on
warranty. I am using Windows XP . How do I use a lower resolution for
the scan? (By the way, Thank you!)

Merhaba, make sure you download a copy f the latest driver and software for the printer form the Canon website and save them in a file titled "Canon" so you can easily find it again. Go into My Computer and open "printers". Click on the Canon and then "uninstall". This will remove it from your system. You will next need to go into "Programs" called Programs and Features in Win7. Highlight each Canon program one at a time and them select "remove". Reboot your computer and follow the installation instructions for your printer. In most cases, you will install the driver first, connect, and then turn "on" the printer. If everything looks ok, then begin installing the software. Reboot your PC and print a "Test Page" by going back into My Computer>Printer> select "canon" > properties> print test page If the page comes out ok, you're ready to go. If this doesn't work, call the Canon support telephone number for assistance. Good Luck iyaksamlar

Hello. You might want to give it a fresh start by properly uninstalling it from your computer. To uninstall the software properly on Windows 7, go to Start Menu > Programs > Lexmark Series folder > Tools > Uninstall. Restart the pc. To reinstall, use this driver from the Lexmark website. Just click on the link: http://bit.ly/atZEM6 . Though it's a 64-bit Vista driver, it's the same driver used on Windows 7. Download and install the software.
The problem is you don't need a Canon expert. If the printer is operable and prints from your computer, then the problem is in either the print drivers or the software you are printing from. You might ask Canon support about Vista or MS office problems with their drivers. 1-800-828-4040 is Canon Cust. support.
The ink cartridges shipped with a new printer are not filled to full capacity as are the ones that you purchase for replacement. Office supply stores "Staples" "Office Depot" etc can refill your cartridges for about half of the cost of a replacement cartridge, I do not reccomend refilling the same cartridge more than twice but even after the second fill you can then trade the cartridge in for a discount on a new one.
Hopefully this helps.
You can also open the printer settings and lower the print resolution for jobs that do not need full color/resolution.

Thank you for taking the time.
Please do a clean download and install in this manner:
Uninstall the old software by going to Start>Control Panel>install and uninstall>scroll down until you find your printer if it is still there and click on uninstall.
Turn off the machine and unplug it
Turn off all your running programs including your virus control (look in the lower right corner and click on each little icon there and turn off everything you can)
Now download the driver and SAVE it to your desktop Click on it to install and follow the directions carefully. When it is finished, if it has not told you to reconnect your printer, do so now.
Restart your computer.
Good Luck. Please let me know if this works and rate my solution. Thank You.
How do I install the downloaded driver and software?
If you have upgraded to Windows Vista™ from another Windows version or have installed drivers and application software from a previous Windows version, the previous driver and application software must be uninstalled prior to installing the Windows Vista™ drivers and application programs. Uninstallation instructions
Prior to installing the driver software, power off the printer and do not turn it back on until instructed to do so during the installation.
