Hi there Epsom TX550W has new genuine cartridges and will not print black. Color is fine. Have done nozzle checks and cleaning all with no success. Is this a constant problem with this printer? Have had the system tell me that the ink has run out when a new cartridge has just been inserted. Hmmmm!!!

The following may work: remove all the ink supplies. Remove the printhead and soak it for about 5 minutes in 0.5" of very hot water. Gently blot the printhead on a soft damp paper towel to remove the excess water, then replace in the printer and then reinstall the ink supplies.

Just make sure you are inserting genuine Lexmark cartridges. Lexmark does not recommend the use of refilled, remanufactured or clone cartridges, you might not get the print quality you expect from ink that is specially formulated by Lexmark.

Try cleaning the cartridge nozzles using the Lexmark software installed on your computer instead:
1. On your computer, go to Start menu.2. Go to Programs.3. Go to Lexmark 2600 Series folder.4. Select Lexmark Solution Center.5. From the Maintenance tab, select Clean to fix horizontal streaks. Your printer will then print a page forcing ink through the cartridge nozzles and clean it from dirt and possible clogs.
If that doesn't help but you're using genuine Lexmark supplies, please contact Lexmark Technical Support for additional assistance, otherwise, please replace your color cartridge with a genuine one.

My Lexmark X1270 printer at one time worked, everything was good, then when I put a new color to black will not print any other color or a black color, print only a little pale, almost do not see anything...

Lexmark products work best with genuine supplies. Lexmark does not recommend the use of refilled, remanufactured, or clone cartridges. You might not get the print quality you expect from ink that is specially formulated by Lexmark.
You can try to clean your cartridge nozzles using the Lexmark software on your computer. From your computer, go to Start menu > Programs > Lexmark X1200 Series folder > select Lexmark Solution Center. From the Maintenance tab, select Clean to fix horizontal streaks. Your printer will then print a page forcing ink through the cartridge nozzles and clean them.
If that does not help, maybe it would be best to replace your supplies with genuine cartridges.
I hope this helps.

Why is my black ink not printing

Hi Colleen,

Try this > open a document (from the computer) and select print from the menu,
- In the print screen window select 'properties' Or 'Preferences' or 'Properties'

- In the next window click 'maintenance'

- In the next window there will be many options to clean, align, nozzle check etc... , there click 'Ink cartridge settings'.

- A small windows opens, there select black only. See the image

- try printing, if it fails to print, just return the cartridge to the shop and get a genuine branded one. (dont forget to change the 'ink cartridge settings to normal to 'both black and color')

Hope this help, if you are not able to fix it still, then better come to chat here , thanks! 10_22_2011_5_46_32_am.jpg

The black ink has stopped printing. Put in two different new cartridges and that doesn't seem to be the problem. It was first noticed when photos were printing out funny even after changing the color...

Make sure you are inserting genuine Lexmark cartridges.
Try to clean the cartridge nozzles. Refer to the steps below:

Cleaning the Print Cartridge Nozzles:

1. Open the Lexmark Solution Center. Click Start > Programs or All Programs > Lexmark 1300 Series. Select Solution Center.

2. From the Maintenance tab, click Clean to fix horizontal streaks.

3. Click Print. A nozzle page prints, forcing ink through the nozzles to clean the clogged nozzles.

4. Print the document again to verify that print quality has improved.

Using the control panel

1. Press Menu.

2. Press the down arrow button until you highlight Clean Cartridge.

3. Press Select. A nozzle page prints, forcing ink through the nozzles to clean the clogged nozzles.

4. Print the document again to verify that print quality has improved.

My Printer prints a Colored Ink. But I type as a black Font Color. Then Black Ink Has full?? pls help me

Hi Carl Montero,
Your issue may be attributed to two possible points of failure. 1.) The Nozzle is clogged, 2.) the ink is already dry inside. You can try to clean the nozzle by doing the following steps. If it does not work, try to replace the cartridge with a new one.
FINE Cartridge Cleaning
1 Press [Menu] repeatedly until appears. 2 Use [ ] or [ ] to select . 3 Press [OK]. 1 Press [Maintenance] repeatedly until appears. 2 Press [Black] or [Color].
FINE Cartridge Deep Cleaning
1 Press [Menu] repeatedly until appears. 2 Use [ ] or [ ] to select . 3 Press [OK]. 1 Press [Maintenance] repeatedly until appears. 2 Press [Black] or [Color].
Note If deep FINE Cartridge cleaning does not improve the print quality, contact a Canon service representative.

Cannot Print Blue; Prints magenta instead

What does a nozzle check pattern show. Which colours are present and how many lines are missing from the poor ones? What cartridge numbers are you using? Genuine or refilled? How old is the machine?
