Macbook - lost left speaker, data, and camera. SMC reset either way didn't fix. Running external monitor which does work

You may have to reset the PRAM. Note: To print these instructions, open Help Viewer's Action pop-up menu (looks like a gear), then choose Print.
  1. Shut down your Mac.
  2. Locate the following keys on the keyboard: Option, Command (?), P, and R. You will need to hold these keys down simultaneously in step 4.
  3. Turn on your Mac.
  4. Immediately press and hold the Option-Command-P-R keys. You must press this key combination before the gray screen appears. Continue holding the keys down until your Mac restarts, and you hear the startup sound for the second time.
  5. Release the keys.
Resetting PRAM may change some system settings and preferences. Use System Preferences to restore your settings.
Happy 2015!

No data to macbook screen

For computers with Mac OS X 10.8 or later, if you have trouble getting your display to work with the computer, access the System Preferences menu and selection the Displays option. Then, press and hold the Option key. In the bottom right corner of the Displays window, you should see a Detect Displays button. Click that button to force the Mac OS to show all the displays, including the macbook's own display.

Otherwise, try resetting the PRAM:
by holding down the Command+Option+P+R keys on your keybord when you turn it on untill you hear the startup chime.

Happy New Year!

There is a white screen when i turn my macbook on but nothng more

Since so many different brands and models of laptops exist, specific causes of a white screen vary from laptop to laptop. The likely cause in most cases of a white screen on a laptop is a connection problem between the LCD screen and the video cable running from the motherboard. The issue can also reside strictly with the motherboard or the screen might contain a defect.

You can diagnose a white screen problem by opening up the laptop display case to determine whether a loose video connection on the back of the LCD screen exists. Reconnecting the video cable should resolve the white screen; a video cable reconnection that does not fix the white screen narrows the root cause to a problem with the motherboard or the screen.

"Motherboard Problems"

The only way to determine if the laptop screen turns white due to a motherboard problem is to test out a different, working LCD screen with the laptop. This requires the user connect the inverter board--the power supply for the LCD back light--and the video cable to the test LCD. If the test LCD works with the motherboard, then the laptop's screen needs replacing; otherwise, a new motherboard is needed because there is no way to replace an integrated graphics card on a laptop motherboard.

Thanks.

My G4 screen shell is starting to detach from the casing

You can remove the back of the screen lid with the 4 hex screws located along the sides of the screen. Once the screws are removed you can remove the back of the screen with a spudger or by flexing the screen assembly starting near the top. Once removed you will find the screws securing the clutch assembly to the screen. If the screws are loose you can tighten them. If they are stripped or broken you will need to find a replacement hinge/clutch assembly on Ebay. Good luck
